What did you have the rings set at? I would have thought e85 would have kept it coolish? Whats the plan now or just aftermarket block?
OK guys, Up for sale is my 408 shortblock minus pistons. $1500 OBO. Includes SCAT competition 4340 rods with arp2000 hardware, SCAT forged 4340 crank. ARP Main studs, line honed, new cam bearings, melling high volume oil pump and a large custom N/A Nitrous cam. I can now say the block is in great shape, zero cracks at the mains or anywhere else. The bores just have shiny spots from rings that were too tight. I would still recommend a .040 overbore to make double sure it's good to roll.
There's some damn good hardware that's worth the money alone, you get a usable block for free. Please share this with everybody you can, I need a quick sale.

I have a set of .040 pistons that should fit this. JE nitrous pistons flat top for inline valve heads with deeper cut valve reliefs. assuming this is 6.250 rod length and 9.5 deck.
