    Tax Deduction from Car registration!

I dont remember doing this last year, but when putting in deductions for your car/truck registration Im a little confused.

For Iowa registration deductions you must take the cost of the registration, minus the weight of the vehicle divided by 250.

So they give an example, registration cost of $150, minus 3,000lbs, divided by 250. The answer? $138

    So I tried it...I get $-11.4. WTF?

    Anybody come across this?

take the weight divided by 250 first, then subtract that number from registration cost. registration cost - (weight/250) . order of operations

    3000/250 = 12 . 150-12=138
