OH yeah!! should be here in a week or so... well, mine is new in teh box but this is the same sub. RE MX15 only "sucky" thing is that it is a D1 so i will have to run the amp at 2ohm but that is still around 2000W rms.

It will be getting ATLEAST 2500 rms... wih my electrical and battery bank i have never seen below 13.8V so... most amps i am looking at are 2500+ at 13.5V

Going to try and get a Memphis 16-MCD4KW (OH YEAHHHHHH)
easily 4K CLEAN watts on 14.4V @ 1ohm

used $550-$700... Someone is comign to look at that motorcycle right now so my fingers are crossed!!

Sold the motorcycle and bought the Memphis amp for dirt cheap along with a partial trade on the MX15...
should be pretty damn sweet!!!! 4K~ rms should be nasty on the XXX...
I am EXCITED as a motha fucka. got some 4/0 wire on teh way too

So if anyone wants 25' of brand new 2/0 i got some, $100 for all of it....

TO CLEAR THIS WHOLE MESS OF A THREAD UP: Traded my APX18 for an MX15 and traded my XXX-6500D for a TA90021 and $350. Then got an offer for an XXX15 and $110 for my Ta90021 so i did that. Leavng me with 2 subs and no amp. Thn i Sold my motorcycle and used $200 of that AND the MX15 for trade on teh Memphis 4K. and picked up some 4/0 wire.

So i will be running an RE XXX15 and a Memphis 4K... SWEEEEEEEEET

Stupidity is overpowering.

Fail....

xci.ed6
11-06-2008, 06:00 PM
not meaning it is stupid to 'overpower' a sub, but meaning that no matter how strong, stout, over-engineered, or amazingly indestructible something is, stupidity will kill it.

Stupidity could kill Chuck Norris.

Stupidity could kill Chuck Norris.
unless he had a rubberband, paper clip, 6" of dental floss and a piece of gum

I took it as you where saying it is better to underpower than overpower... my bad

How many cubic feet you have to work with. And is your trunk lid reinforced?

pos uni comps dont have any flash software cant view RE's website. Do they still sell the 10"?

FiFdYnUtZ

it is a very hard thing to overpower a XXX imo so i dont think a noname 2000w amp was clipping

krustindumm

Clipping has nothing to do with the sub, and everything to do with the amp. You don't seem to know what clipping is, and I don't feel like explaining it, so use google before posting another reply.

Looks like big welder powerwire. Not a lot of insulation, but maybe it wont matter. Any idea how many strand that 2/0 is?

sLoWnStEaDy
11-13-2008, 11:12 AM
stuff on bottom is actualy 4/0
I do have a bunch of 2/0 I will be using for the "Big3" and to link the rear batteries and go to the amp... I will try to get a pic of the 1/0, 2/0 and 4/0 all together sometime...

4/0: 2421- 30awg strands so it is a bit stiff but i don't have any bends or anythign to worry about so... Also i was wrong, the 1/0 above is my Monster cable, I have Stinger 1/0 here too, it is smaller looking than the Monster because it has about half the insulation. Strand count is much higher but strand are also MUCH smaller, it is the "expert series" super flexable shit...

I like the flexible stuff a lot. Just did a budget small system for my gf car, all moster cable and like $100 on electronics. Works great really.
