i only had a couple minutes to check it out- i had to be in the wedding. it was still dirty from the transport, and the whole audio system and some other things need to be activated yet, so i didnt drive it.

but if all things go well this week, i could be driving it home next weekend...

it's hard to tell in the pics, but it has a carbon fiber stripe on the hood as well. i really like how it looks against the black. i'll see if i cant get the pics my buddy Bill(photographer) took of it.

So are you serious about buying it? I just ask cause how many times is it going to be taken out and flogged on before they sell it to someone?

i drove it today. it has 21 miles on it. aparently 3 people came to look at it on Saturday after me, but the salesman told them it was already sold. my financial advisor is a bit of a pitbull and didnt want me signing anything tonight, so he had them fax over all of the terms and paperwork to look over, and see if he can possibly get me a better rate on it. either way, things are looking pretty promising on the whole deal.

P.S.- it doesnt take long at all to get that 2-ton giant up to 90mph....

it'll definatly slow them down a bit, but we'll see how it goes. theres more work to be done than parts that need bought for my truck at this point. besides, the only reason i am going to be able to afford it is i am putting enough money down to get a reasonable monthly payment that i can handle. more than my other projects, i think a big change will be how much i go out on the weekends. it was kindof a reality check when i realized i was spending more money boozing on the weekends than i was on rent!

^wow yea. You need to find an indoor hobby like, gaming or something that keeps you from going out so much haha. I cant imagine you with this car, but if it happens, i want pics, and rides.

well, the rides might have to wait a couple years. i talked to my financial advisor today, and he wasnt very psyched about the deal on the car at all. its not a question of 'if i can afford it', its a question of 'should i get it?'. basically, i thought i could get a lower rate loan than i did, and i didnt think id have to put quite so much down; its just not that good of deal where i am currently finance-wise.

i really hated to hear him say it, but he really made me realize how bad of an idea it was for me to get it now. i dont have a place to keep it this winter, so id have to rent a storage garage to keep it in. i already have 4 project cars- and even though this one is new, and much more reliable, its still basically a really expensive toy.

i still really want one; and it sucks knowing i could buy it, and not doing it. i have been talking about owning one for years, but really, with the money i was going to put down on it, i could invest it for the same amount of time as the loan would take, and have enough money to buy the car outright.

i dont know, we'll see how much the prices on them come down in the coming years- i might still have my challenger someday soon...

thats kindof what i was thinking. wait a year or two and see what happens. it sucks, i really want it still, but sometimes you just have to do the grown up thing. it stings though!

It's not usually a good idea to buy the first year run of a new/restyled car.
