Back in the day (like when Windows 98 ruled the planet) there was this Trap Shooter game that let you shoot the clay pidgins or prarie dogs. It was honestly really amusing- even though graphic and special effect wise it sucked.
You could choose from a BB/pellet gun up to a 10 gauge shot gun. The guns had different sound effects and you could see the dog 'explode' if you shot him with anything higher than a 20 gauge pump shotgun. Man, those were the days.

Doesn't matter, they are vermin. Good shoot. I'd love to setup in a field some day and just start blasting all those little fuckers away.

Damn! I love prairie dog hunting. I didn't make it out this year, but i've gone for about the past 6 years, nothing but a blast the whole time! Vermin license's are getting pricey though.

Range, caliber, equipment? Back in the day cousin had a 700 heavy barrel, 4x12 40mm I think w then fairly new 22/250. I was amazed how it blew crows, etc. etc. into lil bits.

South Dakota license was required and was $42 to acquire.

I was shooting .223 Rem. 50gr V-max. out of my AR. 24in SS bull barrel 6-24x.
Other calibers on the trip: .204, .22-250, .243, .308, and .458 WIN MAG.

Range: Most all shots were min. 100 yards I had a couple that were 50-75, but those were rare. Most kills came at 150-250 yards.
