got me a new digital camera and some new speakers for the ETC...
Camera is a Fujifilm S1000fd (10 M.P. 12X optical zoom, 5.7X digital zoom)... SADLY only picture thing i have is MS paint so you won't get to see the badass quality of the pictures this camera takes (unless i post them full size but...)

camera details: http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digita ... index.html (http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/s/finepix_s1000fd/index.html)
got mine for like $220 shipped, came with a couple little extras. Wasn't looking for a crazy camera or anything, just something with a higher M.P. and a nice zoom. Plus this takes a REALLY nice video as well... can't wait until i get to play with it more...

I was going to go with the Reference series comps for S.S. but i got a killer deal from Pipo on these because he was upgrading to the Reference's... so i snagged both pair of these up (even after shipping) for less than a single pair of the ref's...
They will be running on a "Maxxonics" Crunch P1800.4 (225w X 4 @ 4ohm rms...) you can see the last few pictures i have already started some nice little pods for the fronts, wanted to use the factory BOSE box setup but that wasn't possible. a 5.25" wouldn't even fit behind the door panel. I an attempt to keep it "somewhat subtle" i will be covering the pods in matching leather to blend in with the door panels.... I love those grills though so i am not sure how "subtle" it will ever be....

EDIT: here is Pipo's vehicle in case anyone is interested. He is using these speakers in the video...

looks like the caddy should be pretty loud. Im looking at building a super subtle system for the girls car. I have subwoofers ranging from 2" to 6x9 to 21". Think the best bet for her tho is all factory locations, so i gotta find somethin to fit a 4x6 plate up front...!

Oh have you checked out elementaldesigns.com for the "edead" a roll on sound deaden er and other sound deadening stuff?

Yeah, i seen that... Already deadened my trunk... doors and such i will probably do this weekend, i still have 50sq.ft. of the stuff...

as for loud... my last setup (15" on about 1200 rms) hit a 145.2 with no deadener and no electrical... now i am going to be running an 18" on about 4K rms with som enice electrical upgrades as well as the deadener. I should be at the 150+ range with this setup...

last one already started busting crap on teh car though... rear view mirror snapped off, my little rock ship spidered and destroyed the whole windsheild and my cheap speaker amp got parts rattled lose and fried on me. just tryin to figure out how to design a box for the new sub.

the guy at Atomic gave me this for box specs:

first: "6.0 cubic ft with 30 square inch port opening and 10 inch depth"

second: "if you use APX18 quad as daily listening/bass race, then a 5-6.0cubic ft with 80-100 square inch port with 12 inch depth is good. but if you are competing in higher frequency such as 55, 60 or 65 hz, then make it with 200 square inch port opening will be better and higher SPL score"

can't be any bigger than 18" tall, 24" deep and 38" wide. width would be narrower if possible, are you bored?

Also forgot... I picked up some Aura "Bass Shakers" too... I will be putting those on the couch! movies should be much more entertaining now! haven't gottenthose yet though, should be here in a day or two... Along with a Pioneer amp, traded some junk for 'em....

Idk what those guys specs are going to get you, but if his tuning is for the frequency's listed its going to sound like hell, but be loud. I build my boxes to a lot tighter tolerances than what that guy was throwin at you. The last setup with 4 6 1/2" (same size as my mids...) tuned for 32hz sq/spl hit 142db on a stock car, no mods, at 1200w rms estimated 12v.

Its all in the box, if you want spl, and have the driver specs, I can get you straight spl. Just remember if you try and run a low frequency through em you could send the cone through the roof. ;)

I actualy found a way to squeeze a 10.97ft^3 net box into my car so I am going to run a Pair of the HDC315's like i wanted to before. The last one got me a 145.2 on about 1.2K watts, completely stock everything...) This time I will have a pair running on about 2K watts each RMS... i think the sound deadening, electrical upgrades and aero porting directly into the cabin will be a huge help as well....

doubled the power and doubled the cone area so i don't think that is unreasonable... Erik Yugen got 2nd place in the world finals hitting a 145.6 with a single HDC315 and about 1500 rms or so...

and yeah, i am not sure what the guy was thinking... I have seen a few builds and they are all 8ft3 or bigger tuned to around 36-40 Hz...

Is that the goal than spl, or is it used for music as well? Those guys winning contests are just pushing the limits of their class. Its those guys in unlimited doing some insane work worth looking into. I think Im going to build something for a lower power, single driver class just for fun.

well... I am going for SPL but also playing music as it is going in my DD. I was thinking of trying to different ports to change the tuning when i get metered to get a higher score but i am not all too knowledgeable on that stuff yet. I have WINISD but i will be damned if i can work that bastard...

the guy up on 16th st. (that stereo shop) pretty much guaranteed me i would take home the trophy no problem in a single sub class... He does somethign like 147~ IIRC but was REALLY impressed with my setup. Espescialy since he had never heard of AudioQue unti li pulled up... Well he actualy felt/heard me coming from a couple blocks away. I have been without bass for WAY too long! I have a box already designed along with a cad drawing, 3-D model and cut sheet from Hexibase for the HDC315's so i am pretty confident it will be crazy. taking out my seats and cutting some metal away to make my box CRAM into the trunk will be fun. gotta sell soem stuff so i can buy my alt. and some Kinetiks so i can REALLY unleash that amp.

You could swap ports, thats a pretty good idea, you dont need a trunk...right?

Only need a trunk to hold my stereo stuff...

I have 6 cars at the moment so if i need to haul something i can take one of them ;)

How bout a wall, fold the back seats down aim out the trunk. I just left a concert with rediculous bass, and now need concert volume sound system in a car...now I just need a car; besides the Dizm.

I wanted to do a wall but alas... no folding rear seat.

Might be picking up a 1950 Cadillac and/or a '71 Fury ll so for now i am just tryin to do it on the "somewhat cheap"

Got more of ym goodies in today. Only thing i am still waiting on is my Kinetik KHC16V which is my 16V under hood battery which also has a 12V post to run the car so i don't have to get a voltage stepdown or anythign like that...

2) PowerMaster/XS Power D1000 16V batteries, Ohio Generator 300A alt w/ external regulator and 2) 25' runs of 2/0 wire. Alternator also has a 2 1/8" pulley down from a 2 1/2" pulley. Should put out around 150A at idle

One of the batteries (2400amp max, 16V, sealed)

50' of 2/0 welding cable made by Copperfield, this is the "highly flexable" stuff. It is just as flexable if nto more so than the 1/0 Monster Cable i have in the car now... Only thing i have more flexable is the Stinger "expert" wires i have going to the amp of the batteries. That stuff is GREAT but way too much $$$ at $8+/ft
