Looks awesome Jesse. Did they move the IAT up behind the BOV instead of down by the wheel?

The cut bumper does make it look pretty mean :) plus the turbo hangin there doesn't make anything worse lol.

well that engine bay pic trevor is from the old intercooler i didnt take any new pics under the hood, the IAT is down much lower under the intake with the AMS unit. As for the Magazine im not sure when i get in for the "full" feature but if you pick up the november issue of Turbo mag they did a article on AMS and there is 2 pics and a dyno chart of my car in there, its a good write up.

Guess it depends on what you consider "blown up". I consider blown as melted piston, broken rod, hole in the block, valve damage, broken ring land...etc. etc. Ya know things that would hinder the engine from running. From my understanding...none of those happened.

none of those things happened. Sometimes you just want to do better.

put money up? haha.

its funny how milf guy thinks things blow up, i would agree with trever on this one, and none of those happend.. maybe ya think when you have alot o horse power things happen that dont on let say a 300hp or even 500hp car. My car had a oiling problem. The stock Pan on the evos does not do well with high G-forces, it runs the pick-up tube dry. In turn creating bearing problems. and thats Exactly what happend, NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW THE MOTOR WAS BUILT if the motor was built WRONG or the bearings were to tight or lose dont you think on the dyno the car would have had problems after 19 dyno pulls? and being that th car was on the dyno (none movig object) there was no G-forces to be had, hint no oiling problem. So i dont see what the big deal is? costed me a little money and some down time, now no more shit talking please.

What was the fix for oiling? I cant remember if you had said anything about what you did so it wouldnt happen again. more oil, scraper, modify pickup... turning the boost down;)

you must have not clicked that link i posted. A temp fix for now is to run a diffrent oil then i did and a little more oil than normal. intill that pan comes out.

Looks good Jesse, I am glad you got things figured out, Opinions will always vary on things, just blow it off and move on, every single person involved in this topic has had issues with there cars, including my self, but those seem to be so quickly forgotten. Ed

Nice that you had the balls to come out and say what went wrong, I respects that. Not to many people would come out and say that.

I had a problem with my car the other day!!! I slide sideways on dirt and smashed my right rear rim into another guys car and popped my tire

I consider spun bearings blowing it...and I'm a fucking authority on spun rod bearings. Personal experience its nice, but not something worth doing just to say you did it. Shit gets expensive :(

eh, i melted a piston once, i still say not blown up. Definition of blown up:explosion...

catastrophic failure...yea.

DustinsDuster
09-14-2008, 10:15 AM
im with JJ on this one- anything that stops the engine from being able to run is pretty much blown up to me. not catastrophic failure, no, but still.

Drifte
09-14-2008, 04:30 PM
I have to argue that we cant have opinions of definitions.

Blown up- explosion. No explosion, not blown up. Not workin, k, broken. Physically nothing was broken, but wasn't the way it should be.
