New magnum pushrods were being put on today when I found....
Broken titanium retainer on the Comp Beehives. Ruined the spring, calling comp on Monday asking wtf...
Also, I can't find one piece of the retainer??? time to take the intake off and see if it's in the valley.

So I have a new MSD opti that I really didn't need but will put in anyway and sell the old opti or keep it as back up.

So maybe in a week or two I will have the car running, still have to order the Koni yellows.

That is all, for now... probably more to come

You getting the 3rd gen konis for the rear or the 4th gen ones?

After talking to Sam Strano I will probably do the third gen Koni's since there is a hundred dollar difference for the same performance. Jay I noticed there were no jokes over the LT-1, hmm why not, maybe cause its the stupid bee hive valve springs on a LS-1 :) joke.

Hi Dustin, yeah it's been a while. I just got the money and all the parts in here about two weeks ago to move forward with the car and get carpet in the basement finally (just have to get the wood work done). When things slow down town I will call you and Wally, have you come over and all...

I got rid of the stupid beehive springs. I've got double springs. besides looks like the non stock retainer failed you not the more advanced beehive. Only thing I got to say is maybe learn how to drive a stick so you don't burn up the next clutch because we all know an LT1 don't have the power to do that.:) Feel better now?

I've got the 4th gen ones just because I didn't want to remove the shock to change it. Just gotta turn a knob on top.

That's not a 3+ spec, correct? cause it looks nothing like mine.

Who knows why stuff fails, beehives have been used since 96 on 4v. But our cams are mild baby things. The 2v guys couldn't keep a spring in those for a couple of yrs w a aftermarket cam. Tiny spring pockets, hi lift and 7mm valve stems limits any kind of heavy duty old stuff.

comp redesigned their behives early this year due to structural deficiency. if you have an old set you can send them in and get the new design for free. atleast for ls1s. shame to see tony, hope you find those pieces.

and whats up with the site?

The retrainers are comp titaniums, I would have thought that they would have been adequate for the cam I put in, it being somewhat small :).
I don't know about the shocks Jay I really don't see a need to change the setting. The odds of getting to a road course next year seem to be diminishing with the gas prices and the cost to just keep the girls in cloths and their hobbies right now.
The site went down when I tried to upgrade the PHP for the new Vbulliten software, that and working down town for the past six weeks has put a crunh on spare time to work on things. Motivation to want to work on the car right now is low also (back to cost of living bs. and school)
Anyway I will see what comp has to say here shortly.

Yes sir it is the Spec Stage 3 +
One side is standard material and the other is the 6 finger ceramic material.

I should of taken pics, mine is a 11" solid disc both sides, looked like sintered copper w carbon in it. So what u going to do now? Obviously you are putting down more power than a typical hci ls motor.

Well I figured a Stage 3+ is overkill for a 400 hp (at the tires) motor would be able to output. I have question SPEC as to having a defective set-up from them originally but they say that it was something on my end... right. I torqued everything down to specification and stuck it in the car, so I'm not sure. all I know is that i had to spend another 500 on another spec clutch set-up??? not sure why I bought it again but we will see...

So a retest w the red baron in order? Yea when I bought all that stuff I though damn this is expensive. It better last. Kind of wish I had that tr56/6060 hybrid in the car.

If it's kevlar on one side and 6 puck on the other it's a 2+ disk. A 3 is 6 puck both sides and a 3+ is full face metalic.

Weird. The 3+ that are sold now are full face on both sides though. I've seen many at the ws6 store and some S4 owners have them as well not to mention my vette.

I called Mike after I read your post and verified the part number sitting in the box and it was correct for the Spec Stage 3+.

I will take mine out of the wrap tonight. You guys realize I will have to take in the house because of this :), for as fast as I move when it comes to getting on of my cars to run..... :)

Should have pictures later this evening if I don't have to work downtown.

Side note here my part number has a letter on the end. I don't remember what it is right now I think it is a F.
