Anybody Sportin an i-Phone? i-phone 3G next month! ;o)

I've had my 1st gen for quite a while....love it, and wont be buying the new one because the big difference is the 3G access instead of 2.5G and Iowa doesn't even offer 3G, it's only in the big cities right now.

Just checkin to see if anyone is rockin a 1st gen or planning on picking up a 3G? :rock:

Actually Sprints internet is 3G internet, Sprint has the fastest internet out of all the service providers. And I have to say No to iphone and return fire with Samsungs Instinct.

Instinct > iPhone

I've had the 1st gen iphone for awhile now. I jailbroke it only a few weeks into use and made it a million times better. I will not be buying the Iphone2, it sounds to have increased security issues with jailbreaking it and it's slightly thicker. Also the whole back of it is plastic, that's just asking to crack/chip if dropped but probably helps with signal. I'll be sticking with my 1st gen with all the apps i ever want on it :)

Everyone has an opinion, but an unlocked/jailbroken i-phone is quite hard to beat.

TBTalon, did you use Ziphone or what to jailbreak?

The Instinct does look pretty neat. The only thing it's got on the Iphone is an external battery and external MicroSD slot. That's it. Everything else it can do the Iphone can do better, honestly.

um turn by turn GPS. Internet on the Instinct is alot better than what the iPhone has to offer. Its lighter than the iPhone. The Instinct can record video whereas the iPhone cannot. On the instinct you can watch Live TV whereas on the iPhone you cannot. You can download music alot faster with the Instinct than you can with the iPhone. Plus the Instinct is cheaper in price than the iPhone, you paid what like $400 with a 2 year contract and how much do you pay a month for your bill? The Instinct is going to be under $300 with a 2 year contract and Sprint has the Simply Everything Plan that has unlimited everything for only 99.99.

Instinct > iPhone

Pretty sure I used Ziphone to jailbreak the 1.1.4 firmware. But mine's been jailbroken since 1.1.0 firmware. 2.0 has been jailbroken already so when it comes out, we can get all the new features (except 3g) and still keep all the other 3rd party stuff.


BTW mathew, that comparison you linked up pretty much shows the Iphone is better. The only reason that Instinct looks good is because they are putting it against a stock Iphone. You should see half the shit on my phone, and that's like 1% of stuff I am capable of getting. Everything they listed the iphone couldn't...it can. Also the internet looked a millions times better on the iphone then it did on the Instinct.

yea but Trevor you have to modify your iPhone to do things that the Instinct can do right out of the box. Its ok, it goes back to the whole Windows vs Mac battle again. Which you rock a pc with a Mac phone and i rock a Mac with a soon be own pc phone.

That's unlimited internet/data/txting...about 450anytime minutes, unlimited nights/weekends. and free at&-at&t calls. Oh and rollover minutes :)
