Been out of the car modding scene for a while, at least since I sold my Talon to Drifte. I bought a daily driver Lexus GS400 for family hauling but now $3.75 for premium gas yesterday is starting to impact me a lil. The 300hp 4.0 V8 likes gas too much. The Lexus now sits in the garage instead of the parking lot at work. 19mpg of city driving is stupid for a commuter car.

For my newest 'cheap to play with' car, I recently bought a Acura Integra sedan. Yes it's ugly, it's cheap, it needs work, but IT'S GREAT ON GAS. With a combination of city and a a little bit of highway I got 31.8 miles per gallon. It only costs around $38 to fill it up.

I've had this car for about 3 weeks and here's what's been replaced, or fixed, or changed.
-door panels
-seats
-carpet
-trunk liner
--hood
-left front door
-front bumper cover
-rear bumper cover
-front headlights
-exhaust leak
-front shocks
-wheels

Plans are:
-JDM front conversion like my old Integra Type R.
-replace rusted panels
-shaved door moldings
-OEM Type R lip kit on sides and rear
-Honda Championship White paint
-A little lowering
-tinted windows
-and only mods that will improve gas mileage, no power upgrades.

Nice progress pics. The rear quarters look like hard work. When I finish up with the talon here soon I'll have some progress pics too. Dont think im ever going to get 31mpg though.

glad to hear that you haven't sold off the Talon yet! what are your short term plans for iit?

for the rusted rear quarters on my integra I'm going cut out the lower part of the quarter panel. the cut will be about 3 inches up from the bottom and start from the tail light and go all the way down to the step plate of the rear doors. I will cut the same section from another non rusted car I found and weld it on. this will be a nice looking car when I'm done... You know me , I don't f--k around ... it won't rolling in gray primer. right now I hate just being seen in it cuz of the rust.

I can understand the rolling in something embarassing. My civic had rediculous exhaust for a bit. Just make it clean...maybe a sneaky pete to raise some hell?

The talon:
done:
ss clutch line
new clutch fork
welding clutch pedal
new pivot ball, shimmed
all new coolant lines
blocked off fiav
non-cruise throttle cable
FPR
eprom ecu
fp intake
fog lights
different interior
new battery, alternator

Yet to do:
wheels/tires
poly bushings (have in a box)
aem uego, aem tru boost
driveshaft rebuild
keydiver chip
black leather interior :)
cd player, components

Long term plans:
6bolt, short route fmic, trans build...well this is just silly this could go on for days here.

Jay/ Dustin, thanks for the compliments and motivation to finish this turd mobile! I have this thing for the older unwanted import cars and restoring them somewhat to decent condition... it's nothing like restoring a classic muscle car but at least it's something I can build for cheap. I could've bought a newer car like a Acura TSX but this integra sedan is waay more O.G. (original gangsta!!)
Colton your p-chopped pic is about what I'm looking for this car to be. I got some H&R springs for it today and should have it lowered by this Wednesday coming up.

The car is a 94 and came with the bumper and headlights shown in my first post. I now have the updated 98-01 bumper/headlight which looks like this below... (minus the lower lip and fog lights.)

It'll be slow, get great mpg but when all is said and done, my goal for the car's appearance is to be like THIS below.... what do you guys think?? thumbs up/down?

I've had two 2-door integras in the past including the yellow one in my signature below. That was back when I had only one kid to tote around. Now with another kid that rides in a baby seat, 4 doors are very handy. Plus the coupes are a dime a dozen. Sedans make up like 10 % of all integras and the drivetrain package I have is only 2% of the sedans.

personally i've always liked this front end the mostest..

But the second one is definitely MUCH more classy. You would get alot less retarded kids reving on you with the classy look... which is one of the reasons i decided against a kit for the 240.

The pic with the JDM front end, and the mugen 6 spokes is basically everything I wanted when I was looking for an integra. Go for that look and you'll be happy for sure!
