Some older guy, u know how crazy they are.. stuck a all alum dohc old ford engine in a 69/70 stang. At the time it was state of the art. dohc, shaft driven cams, 4v, all alum, twin magnetos converted here to twin distibutors. First the pics, then the video.. 1100 ci. 950# engine weight. You wonder where that camshaft distributor for ford's new dohc engines came from.. Well here it is.

someone posted this on here a while back. if i remember right, the engine came out of a WWII tank...

yeah i remember that, its awesome. im not sure i ever saw the vid, need to see one in person to really hear it.

Was going to be a v12 airplane engine then gov changed their mind. Now they wanted a tank engine so ford chopped off 4 cylinders. Forged crank, cross bolt mains, splayed caps, forged rods. Y block design. Yes it's been on here before w/o the video.

The engine commonly referred to as the Ford Big Block is the 429-460. It's nice to look at this monster engine.
