But since I can't seem to stop telling people. It's a 1987 Toyota Supra. I am also on the hunt for parts. You could probably tell what it needs. As of now, I have the driveshaft pieces out along with the transmission.

Dude! Nice!

That looks like a great project car. You're going to have so much fun restoring that car... I can't even imagine it.

One of these days when I'm out of college and settled into my career I'd like to do something like that. I just can't afford to have a project car right now while trying to save 20% of my income.

Have fun, and make sure to keep us posted bro. We need a picture timeline of this thing. You should just start up a topic, and title it "87 Toyota Supra 'Work in Progress'" and just update it from time to time with pictures and a description of what you've done to it.

Congrats on the find, though. Again, you're going to have a lot of fun with this I think.

Yeah, it was a steal, kinda. The motor has $5500 worth of work done to it and I got it for $2500. But it needs some work. A back window, some interior, probably brakes, exhaust, rear struts, bodywork and paint. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It runs, which is a plus.

thank god. Otherwise you spent entirely way to much money.

Looks like a good project. Did the previous owner happen to put a good head gasket on it?

I have parts coming for it. I have a hatch with a window (if you can't tell, there isn't a back window), the body panel that sits between the taillights, some body trim, a knock sensor, and the transmission piece that's broken. The reason why I am getting a hatch and the body panel is that it was backed into by a delivery truck and it broke the glass and bent up the hatch and the body panel between the taillights. All that stuff for $300. Not bad I think.

bodywork isnt too bad; it just takes patience. especially if youre not relying on it as a d/d, i would just try it on some less viewable panels to practice on.
