on a side note, i just measured, and the T56 is actually shorter than my stock 5 speed by a few inches, and the shifter location will actually be a bit under 2" FORWARD of where it is now. hopefully, the adapter plate will push it back enough to where it wont be an issue. i was actually hoping the shifter would be back closer to me by a bit, but i'll make due.

That was actualy German... I dont know french at all, i said "what the fuck does that mean" in german...
Anyways, You are putting a T-56 in your duster? DEF. have to post that little project up here for all to see!!!
I wanted to drop one behind teh SBF in the RX7 but i dont have that kind of cash to drop for a tranny right now. That was back when i wanted to drift it though, i have pretty much switched to a strip car so decided a good C4 would prolly do me better. The fiero has a 5-speed and whenever D&R is done with my engine it should be pushin around 400 at the wheels so that should be fun...

no, the Duster is a drag car, and i intend to keep it on that purpose.
i am exploring the possibility of putting a T56 behind a 4G63 in my truck. i dont think anyone has ever done it into a Ram50/Mighty Max; just Conquest/Starions.

Steeda makes the "Tri Ax" shifter for a t56 that moves the handle back 2-3 inches.
There is some good information in the link too http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t ... 56+shifter (http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=655772&highlight=t56+shifter).

thing about a T56 is that there are already off the shelf flywheels for the swap, and the more off the shelf parts i can use, the better. if i cant make a T56 work though, i'll be looking into something else...
