sucks to see it go George, i always liked that car. i dont know though; we'll see how you cope without having a car to have fun with. my money says at some time over the next year or two you'll cave and get something to play with. i know i couldnt give up all my projects, with all that extra money to spend on booze, i very well might drink myself to death...

Times change Dustin, but ya never know what the time ahead may bring, Even I hated to see it go in some weird warped way...lol. Had alot of time in it, and ya it brought some real good times, but it also could be a major pain in the ass. Thats not to say I dont like the imports, I earned alot of respect for them over the past few years. Ed

Ah I haven't been able to talk to George too much but I can remember not too long ago talking to George and he was starting to have the mindset that he's got more important things going on right now (school, etc) that he'd rather be devoting his time to.

Good thinking George. You can always pick up the car thing. cars will always be around but the older you get, the harder (and more expensive) school will get. You made the right decision.

You'll be back in the car scene before you know it. Maybe by then I'll be in the car scene finally! For now I still drive my 10 year old Cavalier cuz she's still giving me good service!

Do what ya need to do. Anita won a few $ from the talon and I had some good bs fun with it. Lots of posts over that talon, so in the end it was all good.

Now that it's gone, what were the actual dyno numbers on it.

Now that I'm home from work I got a chance to watch the video. Great video! Did you make that yourself George? It looked really good, IMO. Great job.

All good things come to an end. From what you've told me though, the best is yet to come buddy. I'm rooting for ya.

Just tell them the race weight. Then if they really want to know they can calculate the power from the et/trap speed from the weight.

Sorry to see it go guys. Was a good car, but.....what's next?

we could calculate it roughly, but not exactly. the whole "area under the curve" thing, you know? George said himself that the 60's werent quite as good as they could have been.

in any case; if anyone wants to figure it out, i thought the ebay ad said the car weighed 2900lbs without George in it, so roughly 3100lbs give or take depending on how much fuel is in the car, ect. who wants to do the math?

With a 3,100lb race weight (with driver/etc.) and a 130mph trap speed it guestimates in the 530whp range.

With his speed increase from the 8th mile to the 1/4mile I'd guess a little more on top of that so probably close to what Ed said. The turbo he had time and time again made 550whp on many other cars. With a few tweaks hear and there and a good fresh motor I could see him squeeze out a few more ponies.

I the car wighed 3165, in f ull race weight on the return road scale w/ me in it. It ran consistant 131 mph w/ 1.8 60 fts.

yup 3165 with george in it, made 53x whp@32-33psi 24 peak timing. only thing that held the car back was the MAF and DSM link. AEM with 5bar map and it might have touched 600@36+psi

aww come-on now, yee have no faith. There are a few guys in the 9's and maybe high 8's with DSMlink. You can always just use the fakeMaf option and work around the gm maf when you outflow it.

I do agree making more power with AEM is a lot easier though lol.

alot of the guys runing fast on dsmlink run auto. works much better. Yes it can be done but mod for mod AEM will make more power, show me a C-16 DSM link Manual car with 4202 making over 900whp, there isent.
