Hey, guys and gals.
My name is Trung and I would like to say hi to everyone. I've bumped into a few people that frequent this site and have told me to join. So here I am....
I am from Iowa City and I drive a 1993 with a 1999 front end black pearl Mitsubishi VR-4. It's modded a little bit;) and I enjoy driving it whenever I can.
That's about it.
Talk to you guys and gals later, and hopefully I'll get to meet some of you at meets.
Best,
Trung

Hey, Dustin. Thanks for the warm welcome.
The etymology of 'Trung' is of Vietnamese origin and according to my Great Uncle it means 'faithful'.
Do you have pics of your car?

Welcome, ya come on up sometimes. I have a slow car, ask anyone around here, it kinda looks fast... domestic late models are slow. I used to work with a smart guy named Van Phamn for several yrs. he went to work for trw.

Zac has been working on getting the online garage back up for the site, where almost everyone posted pics, specs and mods on their car, and everyone could browse through cars. maybe this will give him even more reason to work at a bit more on getting it back(hint hint)

Hey!
Again, thanks for the warm welcome.
You better believe that I will make it to CR in the summer. I met Adam (with the blue stroked out Mustang GT) and Ryan (owner of ImportEvolution) and it would be nice to hang out with gearheads...There aren't many here in this college town-All they want to do is get drunk.
Nice pic, Dustin. What are your plans for it?
69gt4...Do you have pics of your car? I doubt it's slow. You're just being modest:)
black88gt, here's a couple pics of my car...

Welcome to IAF hope you stay a while. Anyway, thats a really clean 3000GT you have, I think the stance is perfect, and the black makes the car look so clean- although I bet its a bitch to keep clean. Hope to see you around this Summer!

Hey i have seen that car in iowa city before, it looks nice! Anyway once winter is over there should be some get togethers in iowa city like at sonic in coralville or the sycramore mall or something. Any idea on what it runs?

I usually don't post too many pics but since you asked that's ok. Btw Dustin had the fastest sb 360 duster as he says built out of junk parts in c.r. It weighed practically nothing. Big & lil's, long tubes, cam, heads, whatever he got from somebody. Yea ur car looks pretty mean for sure. Mine is mostly stock, changed the hood cause someone backed into the stock one.

actually, i said that i had the quickest rust-bucket in town; and more than anything i claimed the title to laugh about it. the car weighs over 3000lbs before i got into it. its light; but not racecar light. it had the cheapest long tube headers you could buy, and was running a circle track cam that peaked out at just over 6kRPM. the only slightly trick part on the car were the heads which werent even ported. other than that, it ran on everyone's old junk parts. it wasn't the fastest thing around, but i thought it was pretty respectable.

Hey, guys. Thanks for the compliment. I am going to fix it up some more than sell it. I have another car that I will probably keep.
Can't talk much...I have to start studying...It's been a bad weekend.
I have never taken my car to the strip so I am not sure what the car can run. People have ran +/- 11.5's in the quarter with similar setup as mine.
That's a really nice looking cobra. Those things are sick! I love the way a v8 sounds...hopefully with my new ss 3" exhaust coming it will sound as nice:)
No, I have never been up to CR for a meet. I've never been to Advance.
Dustin, if you have pics...POST them:)
Take care, guys.

it honestly doesn't take that much to get a 3si (3000gt or stealth r/t) into the 11's. If they spent lots of money one could swap on twin 14b's or 16g's from a DSM and along with the supporting modifications could run 11's easily reliably. There are a few out there with twin evo316g's (one of the best 16g platforms) running pretty quick.
An engine bay shot would be cool though Trung :tonqe:

that 3kgt is an excellent example of perfect wheel/offset choice for a car. very nice
and keep studying, i know i should be.
I see what is your baby now.. :)

Drifte, thanks for the compliment.
Dustin, you should add a DSM to your collection.
DD00SS, I think someone ran a 11.66 at 127mph. He's located in Chicago.
Another guy put down ~470 awhp and a little over 500 ft/lb of torque.
I am not saying my car will run that or near that...I've never taken my car to the track.
My mods are;
twin 13Ts (equivalent to twin 15Gs) from the WRX
560cc Evo VIII fuel injectors
PRO-M fuel management system (what the Mustang guys use)
UR underdrive pulley
Fidanza flywheel
ATR downpipe
3" SS exhaust
Gutted main Dynomaxx hi-flo cat
FMIC
That's really it that makes it go fast.
I'll take it to the track this spring;)

Dustin, you should add a DSM to your collection.
the Ram 50 will technically be a DSM next year hopefully; i have a 4G63 sitting on a stand, a small 16g turbo, 2G exhaust manifold, and some other stuff im putting in the truck this spring if all goes well.
