First kit we did on a b body Dodge, It was tight but squeazing it all together.. will be dynoing next week. We are also converting it to E85, going for a concervative 600 hp.

nice clean install. out of curiousity though. why did you run a cross over pipe from the passenger side manifold to the turbo also? am i missing something here? couldnt have just run it from the drivers side manifold? or not enough back pressure? otherwise looks cool, let us know on some numbers

Darts are A bodies; to my knowledge, Chrysler has never produced a "V" body.

good to see a turbo Dart though, is that a B or RB bigblock?

by the way, what year is the Dart? judging by the inner fender support bars, i would guess 73-74?

Why did you guys use Ebay turbo pieces? XS power turbo, ebay waste gate...what else is ebay? Did the owner of the car purchase those? I hope so, because they aren't going to last very long.

Ummmm that is not an xs power turbo it is a Master Power Made in Brazil, We would not use XS Power Ever.. and the waste gate is an ebay item But the quality and design looked impressive in person,The Clamps however were Cheesy.


That junction where the X-over and the header come together leaves alot to be desired, you know you can buy a 2 into 1 merge piece, or make one..

You lossed me there that is a Vband clamp that runs across and into the other header and the turbo sits on the other header. This is basically a mach up we see a few thing we will change on the next one..

you are right it is an A body they made them from 1966 to 76 in dusters and darts however
Chrysler did have b-body form 1966 to 74 Chargers roadrunners sattellites gtx. and that is a B Block 383cu
it is a 1975 Dodge Dart

the turbo is a master power t70 they have made upwards of 800 hp very popular turbo for ford Guys we made 707 hp with that turbo on a 2.0 liter. the carb is a 600 holly dbl pump, modified by us to except the e85 and flow lots more fuel we are running a walboro fuel pump the regulator is mallory will accept e85 no problem. this is just a mild setup nothing extreme by any messure. just something to go out and play with. This was a total budget buildup, without sacroficing quality or craftmanship.. sure some things could of been changed to appear better. but the proof will be in the numbers.

absolutely not :) I am by far a chrysler specialist i was listening to some one else tell me and I thought they kept saying v-body well they corrected me after reading the post to b- body.. Sorry was not trying to insult you in any way.

not at all, i just had to give you a bit of shit for it. it'd be like if i tried to give you a lesson on DSM's, hehehe.

but since i never seem to get a chance to talk about them anymore(scatpack.com is down), there are a few things you left out, and a few minor discrepancies(sp?).

the b-body platform you know actually started in 1962, with the Plymouth Belvedere and Fury, and the Dodge 330(low model) and 440(higher end model) Dart. yes i did say Dart. the Dart was a b-body until 1963 when they transfered the nameplate to their new smaller "mid-size" car(A body), but im getting ahead of myself. of the b-body's you mentioned, you left out the other dodge offerings, the Coronet and later, the Superbee(Superbee's and Roadrunner's didnt come around until 1968). in 71, the Superbee was just an option on the Charger with a few slight cosmetic differences. the roadrunner died in 74 if i remember correctly.

the a-body's are split into two major groups(just in case someone comes in and wants to do a similar build on an earlier a-body); 63-66 and 67-76(the abody died in 76 and the F-bodys took over(Aspen/Volare)). 63-66 Abodys have smaller engine bays that are hard enough to fit a smallblock with headers in, let alone a bigblock(even just using manifolds). 67-76 abodys were bigger, but still kept similar wheel bases(my Duster has the shortest at 108"). models included Dart, Valiant and the Barracuda for 63-66, and Dart, Demon(71-72), Dart Sport(72-74, religious influence killed the "Demon" nameplate and dubbed it the dart sport), Valiant, Barracuda(64-69, in 70 the Cuda was an E body), Scamp and Duster.

ok, thats enough rambling for today. just putting information out there for whatever it's worth.

from what ive seen master power turbos dont exactly have the best rep either. seen quite a few of them going down. there was one vendor on TMs that sold a lot of 120 and had 9 come back, and also a poll w/ about 10% being failures; not exactly a good success rate. take it for what its worth.

Cool project trent, keep us updated. Lots of room in that engine bay.

Did you make the manifolds, piping and do all the welding? What type of metal are you using and how thick? Do you have a better pic of when the crossover merges into the rest of the system.

Are you going to run pump gas before e85? I'm curious as to how much power you can run without an intercooler on pump gas.

I'm thinking of turboing my ls1 rx7, that would be a fun project.

FYI trent, Turbonetics has good pricing on those t70 and larger turbos. Shoot me an email if you want a turbo quote in the future. I have good pricing on turbonetics and decent pricing on garrett turbos.

from what i understand, a lot of the street driven forced induction V8's i see run some kind of chemical injection (nitrous or water injection) to keep intake air temps down.

im sure if you werent running a lot of boost it would probably still perform decently, but i say put an intercooler on that thing Trent! there's planety of room in that engine bay...

We can say from experience that their is alot more you can get away with on a blo-thru set-up versus fi.We have tested air inlet temps above and below carb hat.I can say this with alot of confidence their is atleast a 100 degree difference after the carb.We tested the wagon time and time again.On a dyno pull turning the boost way up 28lbs the hottest air inlet temps recorded were 200 degrees and some change.Blo-thrus work if you have the resources and patience to make it work,this was all done non intercooled no meth, no spray!Steve o
