thats pretty sweet. you can see the sound waves at some of the points.

If you do your homework on sound it is quit complicated. If you get a metal plate and brace it at the center and use a violine bow and run it up and down the side with sand on the plate at different freq. you get all kinds of cool shapes from the sand (Chladni plates) google it.

thats crazy how all the different sounds create different patterns. on the 1st one you could really tell how the higher notes made smaller waves then the lower notes. never seen anything like all 3 of those videos

yea i remember the resonating metal one. It is cool stuff, I just like speakers a lot (kinda weird obsession) so i watch those more. Sound waves are cool, when someone knows their stuff a large room done right can be taken care of; its obvious when a stadium neglects to take everything they should into consideration. the UNI dome is ok, lots of standing waves, i sit in different places and you hear a completely different event!

Drifte, not to steal ur thread but I thought you might find this of interest. A mit simulation of 2 dimensional wave action. They say radio (electromagnetic), it could be sound or reg old water waves or light for that matter. You can manipulate the trigger sources, the freq., add walls etc. etc. I've always been interested in this stuff. You can even build a lil spkr box and see it work, like a bass reflex or folded horn.
