its weird looking at an lsx style engine and seeing an off centered TB and not seeing the 'folded hands' intake manifold, but i think this is a good trade

I think trading the intake for the blower would be good. To bad it's gonna cost so much you won't see to many of them.

thats true, but still it's pretty sweet. might want to check this out though. found it on ls1tech. it's nothing set in stone, but i'll still get my hopes up. check out the 'ls8' in peticular

hahahahaha throws out the traditional "but it has a blower" or "put a blower on the lsx and..." excuses that recur about ever 30 seconds.

also its the ls1 owners that gravitate towards the blower excuse anyway

That's 650 emissions legal HP though with a blower stock.:) I'm sure with tweeking you can get alot more.

will probably be a lot like ford blown motors, and respond to mods insanely well.

dont like that stupid cover though; paying that much you should show off the motor

im scared to even ask how much a Corvette with that motor will cost. thats supercar territory...

although the belt setup doesnt look too conducive to a smaller pulley, as the WP and P/S are run off the blower belt, and the stock upper looks to be fairly small, and a larger lower would be interesting packaging wise. at least its a 12 rib setup.

Its about time gm did a s/c v8 imo. I hope they put it in a 30k dollar car camaro would be nice. However that intake setup looks like Molly Saleens intake..

Seriously, nice info, anymore D/D and or Zee?
I put that other up there for 88gt benefit although u can see it the actual engine s/c setup looks similar. It's a twin screw s/c on a 3 valve. But we all know on a d/d c.i. and moderate boost w smaller cam/s can be a real good street d/d. So I applaud gm to do a s/c v8. Probably has that new eaton?

The general consensus is the ZR1 msrp will be around $100K. Of course dealers will probably jack the price $20K and will get it.

From another site...............

"The LS9 uses the largest blower ever built to date by Eaton. The supercharger is a 2300ci unit. The 1900ci unit that was tested on the LS2 put out over 700 hp with something like 8 psi of boost. The LS9 made in the neighborhood of 900hp on pump gas with a 50 state legal emissions tune. This thing should be a MONSTER if GM allows it to be. Only time will tell. And you can bet it won't be advertised with the figure listed above, but it is capable"

Even though I have a Mustang I have always had respect for the LS series engines (there just amazing, and they are so much cheaper to work on than mod motors) and the ls9 is no substitute. I do have a concern or two about Chevy's design. Looking at pictures on here and other sites I have noticed that there are a buttload of pulleys already running around the front of the car (s/c pulley, accessories, water pump, etc) and there all pretty well packed into one area, my point is that I don't think its possible to change the s/c pulley size out. I could be wrong- the after market has ways of preforming miracles, but looking at it just looks like it would be a bitch to work on at all. I'm sure KB or Whipple will come out with 'Big Bore' blower upgrades at least. Well all in all its a 8/10 in my book- get ready to chalk up another success for the bow-ties.

Well looking at the gt500, they made it so u can't change the lower, then made the upper small so it basically allowed a very small amount of boost increase. They don't want warranty issues. I do like that tvs eaton though if it makes boost down low like the other eatons w better eff and top end flow. Eaton has the tvs s/c maps up and the 1900 size on down looks as good as a cent eff wise. Like I said before w a good stout mtr add some juice w the boost. You know how that works. Tire smoking tq even on a lil mtr.

i think its a 2300, but dont quote me on that

Ya I couldn't find a map for the tvs 2300. It appears the 1900 is around the m112 size. But a lot better eff wise. I'd consider a 2300 to replace the m112 if price was right.
