So last night i fought some kid that has been training with des moines mma for over a year. well i was in control the whole first round till the end and he got side mount. well with about 10 seconds left he hooked my arm with his legs and snapped my arm. had a dislocated humerous dislocated shoulder and they told me im done sucks when i was boxing with him and taking him down the whole time. have to have surgery tom. and have pins put in it.

we braced my arm in the ring and i walked out of the ring myself and rode 20 minutes to com to the hospital here. there is a vid and u can here and see it break.

Thats a pretty bad break but looks like a very clean break, if you don't damage any nerves from break or surbery recover should be quick. Did you tear anything in the shoulder?

I had 5 (4-0-1) fights before i called it quits, just wasnt really my thing i guess. I like fighting and all but i just couldnt see myself doing it for very long espescialy with my health issues. Not to mention io had to drop like 30 pounds just to get into a class where i wouldnt be completely destroyed every time i stepped in the ring.

That really doe ssuck though if it was something you planned to do for a long time. worst i ever got was a really battered up face and a cracked rib (dude through a spinning round house that REALLY caught me off gaurd!!) anyways good luck with the injury, i dont see why you couldnt get back into after a while. I have seen people come back from worse.

so how come youre gonna stop fighting then? i assumed you had to quit because it'd never be strong enough again...

The reason i stopped was after 4000+dollar bill for a compound boxers fracture, if you aren't careful and don't look at your health insurance converage, many won't pay for damages recieved while willingly fighting.
