Hey I resemble that remark, lol..........
Damn is that a supercharger with it too?? I think it looks good. Must be pricey too.

you resemble excess? spend a lot of time at the gym or something?
and yeah, its a supercharger. Rob usually doesnt say what the stuff he posts up is for, because 99 times out of 100, its for Cobras. yeah, as if the supercharger wasnt enough; how about two big turbos and a big intercooler as well?
like i said, Texas...

And the best part is who is producing the kit. Hellion... there like the best turbo-kit providers out there. That could be going overboard but as I think back every mustang guy who was going the f/i option (and not a s/c) was buying a kit from Hellion. I was horrified when I opened this topic, granted single turbos on Cobras are not that big of a deal, twin turbo kits have been around for a 'lil bit but there still a huge deal in my opinion... now the use of the factory Eaton and twins! Thats just.... completely unnecessary, like Dustin said, but I like it. I kicked around the idea of a turbo kit but it wouldn't be anything like that... since Rob is posting this do you think this is what he has in mind for his '03? :yawinkle:

I had a idea like that, not that it is new or anything, yea u use a pd s/c along w the turbo. It suppose to make a higher flat power curve, however my idea was use a open bigger bypass for turbo as I don't know how much u can compress and flow through the rotors. A pd moves x air per rev which is a simple calculation. mo or less a linear curve of air flow per rpms for a certain range. Yea hellion is a very rep maker of turbo kits.

Well seriously it would take some work imo. Convert to a return style fuel system, who would want to jack w anything less? Asking for troubles otherwise. Ol Rob is too poor to be some guinea pig in corn state iowa, it would need someone with some real experience and be custom tuned w lots of parts. Hard to say what load/timing/fuel tables would be. I like the idea a no lag system w better top end and would like to see if it gets around the loss when u spin a small eaton fast. Might not need some 2 step setup etc. Only time will tell I guess if it would be better than a what we got now. The pic looked cool w the lil sign. I frequent the 03 sites so when I see something of possible interest or new idea etc. I might post it up. If some camaro guy saw a new xx cam that made power better than others and got good drivability had some video etc. same thing. Other day I saw a video of a guy running a f1r s/c w a old ford fe motor, it made plenty of power. Then again I saw a guy w a new gt500 w a 2.8 kb kit making a claimed 800 rwhp w reasonable boost stock motor/exhaust.

I dont think this is excess at all, the point of using the supercharger with the turbos is oviously for more boost since you limited with the factory supercharger, but while the 2 in series it will make the whole turbo swap process easier and alot cheaper without having to buy a new intake, and turbo lag wouldnt be quite as bad either. Looks like it would make one hell of a set-up if the factory blower doesnt restrict too much, but Im sure with hellion they did plenty of testing and know what works
If I had a Mustang I wouldn't get that. Way to much weight to add. I would dump the factory blower too and get something lighter. Like a plastic intake with an LS7 under it. :hedbang:

Ha, I knew u would say that... Well for ur info there is a new motor coming, it is running low 9's n/a w 7 litres in a new style stang. The guy that owns it is older than dirt to boot. Runs on e85. And its got Lil flags there see that !!! It's a grocery getter. Grandma could drive it. And its a 5 speed stick not some I can do that 2 auto. 2 Injectors per cylinder for gas economy...

No I don't know or have not heard what kind of engine it is. The distance from the block to timing cover front is big, is there a timing gear under the front of the valve cover, don't know. The ports I'm guessing are oval to fit 2 injectors like a 3/4 valve. The valve covers are wide, a pentroof chamber is possible or a twisted valve. The other thing the plugs go on bottom, like a wedge chamber.

definetly looks like a ohc engine, but why would you run a ohc motor without a hemi style head?? seems kinda wierd...

In my spare time at work trying to figure that one out. The 427 cammer had plugs at top like 4.6 sohc. Figure it out Scotty. I figure intake ports like a 3 or 4 v.

mm & ff said it was a pushrod motor w/ a hemi setup for the combustion chamber. also said it makes over 800 n/a on e85. how much truth there is to that, i have no idea.

I think mm and ff knows what they are talking about! That thing is a beast. I can't wait to see numbers on that kit.

I see that as no different than getting a alum dart/world/fontana block sbf and then put some chi heads on it and bingo better than a ls1 modded. After all it is a copy of a windsor heads/fe cross bolt side oiler block. And being not a junkyard donor costs plenty.
Equal port spacing, cross bolts. Smells of some ford design. Phew...What was that around 1963... And 65 for the side oiler? and 65 was the sohc? Even the C hemi was 64 w cross bolts. Really I don't care all is good but it is old news. Mo c.i. wins w equal stuff and if it can take it. A 4v needs less cam for same airflow same port size. Why they use it. I can rev 7k with a tiny cam, no 2v can do that with equal cam specs, .390 lift and 190 Deg @.050 dur. A 4v doesn't need .7 lift and 250 dur to make rpm power.

im not sure, but i think some of the max wedge's had crossbolted mains as well, but dont quote me on that.

^^ That could be, I never got to talk to any of those ppl dad being a ford guy and all. I'm happy for any decent improvements, dodge has that new hemi which looks more advanced than the lsx in some ways. but that new toyota truck engine looks pretty tough and small for a 350 ci 4v. And the ford while a 4v while ok that bore spacing deal sucked. Who wants to run on race gas around town for a d/d. You get up around 19 to 21# boost and that's what it is unless you do a bunch of work to use e85. I'll tell you the guy at work w the 350 tundra says damn good mileage for a truck and it will run away from any old ford, dodge, gm in the lot. Can't argue w 381 hp and 401 tq na in a truck. I hope ford steps up along w the other 2 as we know trucks are a big market. This is bad ppl... Hey u gm guys got it off target, all i'm saying why not mod a toyota 350 4v if ya could, put it in a f body.

Ford experimental engine code named 777 update... What's 777? 7 litre 700 hp @ 7k rpms.
Here's some new pics of front of engine. I'd say its ohc. Look at that boss area could be for a cam phaser, like a 3v. The timing cover comes up all the way to valve covers also.

The full spread, for those that might not like the fords, mind ya it works for xx also. Merry Christmas. This really is power under the curve I kid u not.. the planes beat the germans and detroit 2 stroke had it till emissions killed it....
