I've also got a few.

Are you looking for a 1g smic or a 2g?

hhmmm... honestly dont know the difference between a 1G and a 2G, its not being used on a DSM of any sort, just usin it for a "custom" turbo project...
Is one "better" than the other? (1G vs. 2G)

1g core is kind of bigger, 2g inlet/outlet sizes are slightly bigger. 1g's are usually concidered "better"

Have you looked into a mk4 supra sidemount? They can be found for cheap and are MUCH better then DSM sidemounts.

Ill check into that...
does anyone happen to know the dimensions of a DSM intercooler and the inlet/outlet size?

Also how do you decide what size intercooler piping would be best suited for a certain setup? the engine is a 3.4L DOHC 24V V6 (Lumina Z34 engine) with some port and polish work and 36# injectors (3800SCII). Ill be honest, i am not 100% sure what the turbo is at this point, i havent received it yet. Its a Garret/aiResearch that someone pulled off their 1JZ. Wasnt going to buy it but i got it VERY cheap so if it wont work for me i can just sell it off and get a different one. I THINK it is a .60 comp. and .69 turb. but i am not 100% sure... Going to run like 8-10 pounds, i was thinking just 2"-2.5" IC piping would work...?
Alos, yes i do know it isnt very smart to buy a turbo when you dont know the specs, but for the $61 i paid for it, i figured i would take the chance. I have a 4cyl car, the 6 cyl i want to use it on and a V8 as well so i am sure it will be of some use to me no matter what... no damage, no shaft play or anything liek that so i sniped it...

I'd just do 2.5" piping Keith. Most DSM guy's run 2.5" piping on turbos ranging from the 14b all the way to gt35r's. In comparison most 3si (3000gt/Stealth TT) guys use 2.5" or 3" piping...depending on the fmic set-up and turbos. Usually they run 1.75"-2" piping from the stock twins joining into one side of a FMIC then outlet into a 2.5" or 3" pipe to the throttle body. That's for a fmic set-up of course with a single outlet.

To cut it short, just do 2.5" routing.
