looks to me like Mitsubishi has themselves an answer to the ford Lightning?
It looks good. Wonder if it performs like a lightning though. I've heard those Mitsu trucks are very good trucks. They aren't as tough (for towing, etc) than the fords and dodge's and chevy trucks generally are but I've heard otherwise they are really good.

Mitsu better be designing a V8 for it if they want to compete with the Lightning.
alright looking truck i guess, as far as modern looking trucks go anyway.

is this really meant to compete with the lightning? not only is the lightning no longer produced, but it was very much a "niche" kind of vehicle, and would not be a good venture for a company in dire financial straits.
just a side note supposedly svt is going to be started up again, and with a huge budget. guess theyre making a lightning, a cobra, and maybe a focus.

Since Toyota came out with their new Tundra everyone seems to be going bigger with power...

they can already get one. if you dont notice that truck looks a hell of a lot like the dodge dakota.... which has a v8 as an option. and i know the ones with the v8 are tough little truck that can pull alot. so if its setup for street im sure it could be kinda quick.

UMM you might know this already but the only thing different between the dodge and the mitsu is the shell, oh yeah and the cost mistu is much higher.

are you sure about that? i was under the impression Daimler bought Chrysler a while back, and thats why a lot of the new Dodge stuff utilizes some German designs.....

I like it. I'd rock the shit out of that. Probably swap in a turbo 4g63 while i'm at it.

the funny thing is mitsu is in much worse shape than dodge. mitsu is in just about the saddest shape of any major car company

I'll give my .02 opinion. In a truck you either need c.i. or a positive displacement blower still v8 300ci or at least 3.8 v6. A 4 cyl turbo is useless to tow anything. I am mighty impressed w the toyota tundra 350ci 4v w 4.3 gears. 381hp, 4.3 gears w a small shot of n20 it could go fairly good. Ford better come out with a bigger ci engine soon or be screwed. As in whippled 4v 330ci w 8# of boost. Better than a stock 502 imo. Only pwr if you need it or displacement on demand. Better than cyl deactivation imo as far as power potential.
This looks like a 300 chrysler imo btw.
