I need a running 2.8 v6 for an '85 s-10. My Dad will give me his old truck if I can find a different motor.

Damn thing has a spun rod bearing.

I could use an auto tranny for it too if it wasn't a whole lot more.

Shoot me a PM or email. I can give my cell number from there.

Thanks all.

Most that i've seen sell go for like $100. What's he think about that?

Have you gotten a chance to talk to your brother?

yes, but havent gotten a 100% yes outa him. I think you could get it easy for 100, if you want the trans like 50. He did a bunch of work to it, then had to pull it because mice chewed on the wiring.

I just want to make sure if it came from an 85 or older vehicle.

What year was the truck he had it in? If it's 86 or newer it probably won't work since they changed it that year.

What kind of work was done to it? I shot you a PM too.

work was just general maintanace. oil, plugs, filter, dizzy cap etc. Trying to get an answer or even response from my brother is damn near impossible. But if i remember I'll go take pics of the stuff, and maybe just sell it anyway IM sure he will be fine with me handing him money:)

again, sorry

That's ok. I kind of forgot about it for a little bit. Shoot me a PM if you get it figured out.

It's not a 2.8 it's a 4.3L. The harness isn't too messed up, needs 3 er 4 wires repaired.

Has new:
distributor, serp belt, cap/rotor/plugs/wires, air filter, trans pan gasket and filter, maybe some other stuff. I put about $150 in parts into it, and realized how much I hate working on GM's.

If you still want it, $150 and you can take everything (including the rest of the truck and a new uninstalled heater core) except I need a rear axle with brakes, and the front spindles with the brakes for a yet undisclosed project. I don't care if they are the axles from this truck or another. This truck is very solid underneath, everything you can see on the outside is rusty.

I've run into some money issues, so this is getting put on the back burner. I really need a 2.8 so I don't have to change anything. Simple drop-in installation.
