a little after hours tuning session looks like I am making a little more power :)
oh yeah 700 hp 523 torque
better yet that is only 11.7 a/f yeah there is more left in it :)

Holy crap! That is sweet.
Nice looking power curve.

personally, i like real flat power curves, but then again, im a domestic guy. Scott ran 10.50's with 375rwhp, but there wasnt much of a power "curve" at all..

haha yeah Im not too sure about the dyno accuracy but since the new engine only made 550, that means the old one was less, "maybe 500" that puts it at about 375 with 25% loss in auto trans and on a mustang dyno it reads lower apparently.. Must be an effiecient car I guess.. I will get on the laptop tonight and see if I can get the dyno print out of the engine, its got a pretty damn flat power curve, and with the nitrous it actually got even flatter

I couldnt help but notice your graph Trent, why is it plotting run-time at the bottom and not rpm, if it is RPM how come on the bottom right of the page it says peak power at 7523 then on the graph it shows it about 6300 rpm??

rpm is on the right hand side of the page, that should help it make sense.

that is probably the most hard to understand, stupidest way to organize a dyno graph I have ever seen, when tuning for power anyway...

did you set it up that way so it makes your power band look wider or something??

Isnt that AFR just a tad lean for E85 fuel

the bottom isnt rpm, its time, that was how the dyno software came setup, we have since changed it to the conventional rpm at bottom

11.7 afr as read on a gasoline calibrated wideband equals E85 AFR of 7.77
( 11.7 / 14.7 * 9.765 = 7.77 )

ahh i see, I didnt know you calibrated widebands to different types of gas, I thought O2 sensors got calibrated to the O2 in the air... ya know since it does read oxygen in the air and not fuel..

Your right, it does read O2. It doesn't matter which fuel you are using, lambada will ALWAYS be the same, regardless of fuel being used. You can change the polynomial to make the afr readout read what you like.

Here's what I found Scott, another mustang guy pointed it out. Notice he says a indicated reading of 12:1 for best power. Later he goes into a conversion formula which means a 12:1 reading = about 8:1 w e85. So bottom line shoot for 12:1 af on a reg o2 wb w boost.

Test Car
1995 Mustang GT street car, 331 cubic inch, custom twin turbo system with twin T70 p-trims w/ .58 AR, T56 tranny, solid roller: 242/236, .600 lift.
Fuel System: 3, 255lph Walbro in line fuel pumps, 160# injectors.
No alky, no nitrous, no ice on the intake, etc.
The first thing we did was add 40% fuel to the fuel map under WOT. We also added about 20% fuel in part throttle areas. We were tuning using a regular gasoline wideband air fuel ratio of 14:1 at part throttle. On the dyno the car made the best and cleanest power at 12:1.
At 6 psi of boost and 35 degrees total timing the car made 575rwhp from 6000rpm until 7500rpm. The power never fell off. We tried less timing but the car didn’t respond well and the power curve was sloppier. At 13psi and about 29 degrees of timing we made 872rwhp. At 20psi and ~24 degrees of timing we made 989rwhp.
At 30 psi and 20 degrees of timing we ended up with 1066rwhp. The fuel injectors were at 75% duty cycle at this power level. Whereas with gasoline they were at about 55%. The fuel pressure was also slightly falling off at the top. The lack of a large power increase from 20-30psi is due to the tiny exhaust housings on this street car.

yeah thats kinda what I figured, so the only reason that you "recalibrated" I use that term loosely, is because the tuner doesnt want to see 8:1 as an ideal afr???even though it actually is....
