I have an older laptop that I would like to use in the future for DSMLINK. The power connector fell out awhile back and is now lost. I cannot find another connector. Is there someother way I can fix it to be able to use it every so often. Possible solder the wires straight to the motherboard. Someone let me know. Its a Compaq Presario CM2070.

have you tried calling compaq? most of those connectors are standard on all of their laptops... they might have one in their parts deparment.

Depending on how the board is layed out and how close other components are, you could solder the wires on the board. It probly wouldn't be a perfect fix, but if you were carefully with it, it should last for a while.
