View Full Version : Twisty and/or Curvy roads

This weekend I am installing all of my new suspension goods, does anyone know of a good road that would test them fairly well?

Would prefer a road with lots of left hand turns because my oil pickup is on the passenger side. My platform is notorious for spinning bearings on hard high speed right hand sweepers.

Thanks in advance. :)

I'd like to know also. I really want to try out the G-Tech Pro RR and see how well the data logging works.

i know of this road. its by eastpost but it some hard rights and hard lefts. by hard i mean smoth S cuve into a 15mph right hander thing swing it hard to the left, apex hits hammer it... watch out for kid with the lawn mower, then some more rights and lefts. blind peak at the end down hill straight away and then stop sign. its fun me and tyler go there a lot but i dont know if i want to say the road yet...

I've heard of it and actually went looking for it one night, and tried looking it up on MapQuest and still couldn't find the damn place!

Ricky
04-03-2007, 10:28 PM
hehe im not sure how to get there now. but its not far from the ave and its goes to mt. vernon road. thats all i know. tyler can give you better directions. o and some of the conners are "off camber" a little so your not going to be able to take those as fast as you would think ;) take it slow the first time for sure.

JustinS
04-03-2007, 10:37 PM
No doubt, you always take it easy your first time out for everything. I tend to break a lot of shit if I don't.

Perhaps we should have some sort of CR:U meet and go out for a drive this weekend. Even though it will be cold as hell.

Ricky
04-03-2007, 10:55 PM
if its nice i will be out. probably on the ave somewhere like i was back in high school. if you see me flag me down :)

JustinS
04-03-2007, 10:59 PM
I'll be sure too. What time do you think you'll be out. Maybe I can get Tyler to come out with the Gti, since he had a little mishap with the Corrado.

hopefully we'll have two 240's to play with that day, hell maybe even 3.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet but the road leading to the BBQ this summer is about as curvy as any road around here.

Make sure you all are there! We are getting the date set today!

that road leading to the bbq is awesome. i remember listening to my turbo the whoooole drive their. it was bouncin off the trees. i recall looking in my mirror and seeing stro just rocket around a corner barely making it. but that was before his suspension, damn it was funny.

I'm mainly looking to go check it out and what not, fast driving should be saved till the warmer weather. My tires probably wont stick to well in this weather.

I dont know if you want to head down to the ic area but sugar bottom and mchaffe bridge road are some nice ones to run. sugar bottom is great, tests some skills, i know a few guys that take their bikes out there, and if you want a few cars to run with i can help out with that too. im going to try to get some of the motor heads around here into this site. we need to get as many people as we can back into the scene. the more cars running around the better. its addictive! you see a nice mod you want it or something like it. lets get eastern iowa car crazy. tell everyone you know about this site and have them join. they will get hooked!

You work on those IC people, people get turned off because of Cedar Rapids in the title of this place but it's open to anyone in Iowa!

damnit i didnt want you telling everyone about sugar, eventhough its pretty widely known. I just dont want asshats going there driving the hell out of their super understeering crap suspension cars and making sure that road gets closed forever.

That is a good twisty road but like you Justin prolly wanna slow down on some of those right hand turns. If they have a such a problem with that, you should just get a moroso oil pan or something. Keep it in mind.
