There are a couple easier ways to do that.
You can buy a hydraulic press from harbor freight and it will take 5 minutes.
If you don't want the press, clamp the center sleeve of the bushing in a vice and twist the control arm around, it will break free of the rubber and come out. Then cut through the rubber and outer sleeve with a hacksaw (use lube or the blade will stick to the rubber) in two places about 45-90* apart. Use a small punch and hammer to knock out the wedge you made, and the rest will fall out with a couple taps. It took about 15 minutes per bushing.
