This summer it should be out. 130+ mph and zero to 60 in 4 sec. 250 mile range. Charge in 3 hrs. It appears it has some serious backers $$$ to make it a go. Comments you all......

not only do i love electric cars, this one looks awesome. Some friends and I already know ways to beef these up a notch..that is, if we can afford them. I drove an electric with 6.5hp that would suck you back pretty good, this things gotta be fun.

I being of the elect./electronic background I am pretty excited about it. Finally a elect. with some power. I knew the motors had tq down low unlike a diesel or anything else. I would drive it to work for sure as I live 5-7 mi away. I never was excited over a prius or that type of stuff. No a/c but it has everthing else.
First thing if I had it would call ol george and adam up and make a lil video. I like the name too as it was tesla that made the 3 phase mtr and designed the 3 phase distribution system along with his other unrealized ideas. Lets get some more comments say if they or others had a $40k version.
I say screw the mideast save the gas for our beloved hp and hiway cruisers. I say if they wanted to really get serious we would go back to a tax deduction for financing the car or a credit system. Drifte get some other ppl here I want to hear the comments and debate the issues. It should be a very reliable setup however I'm not up on the batteries 100% say like debate on laptop batteries using lithium ion. Real world issues. I want to hear from the ladies too.

Hey Rob heres a brain teaser. Who was Tesla's nemasis? It think he was very over looked due to this person. He is also very excentric, but very smart. My opinion on electric cars=instant torque and a lot of it will cause much tiressmoke. YAAA
I do believe there should be some tax rebates and such for people buying fuel eff. or electric cars.

There is a tax break for hybrid purchases.
The car is cool.
The only thing I would worry about is the batteries. I have seen a prius battery go bad an the battery itself was $4800 without installation and toyota acted like it was impossible that the battery was the problem.

Adam, that was Edison if fact he provided electrocution demos using ac for the source power. well we know who won that deal. 3 phase is the winner.
Yea the battery aspect always has concerned me or is the limiting factor. Supercapacitors sounds good but not as long lasting for a long trip. There are a bunch of t zero videos out there beating various cars. Still I'd like to say screw off to those crazies in the mideast along with the oil co. or at least make them negotiate better.

nitrous replace by massive capasitors. push a button and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I am also a bit worried about the batteries, the cost being 90+k for the car in the first place, its outa my reach for a while. In a couple days this thread i see gettin lots of hits.

I say build a little nuclear reactor and throw that under the hood.. Nah I think its a good idea and its pretty cool because there isnt any real limit for power/torque with those things, the more current and voltage you throw at it with out burning something up the faster it "should" go. not to mention unlimited control and precise adjustablity of the power output.. I remember watching something on speedvision about a electric drag car versus a viper I think. The dumbass's with the electric car underestimated the torque and used some retarded way of linking the chain sprocket to the axle and kept breaking it. I think that electric car was something along the lines of a mail truck with a shit ton of batteries in it..

that thing is probably useless this time of year around here. does it have a heater? I'd feel terrible driving it and listening to the radio at the same time, just knowing i was taking away from the battery. I wonder how those batteries are in these temperatures as well, or maybe side effects of letting it sit a season out.
...i still want one.

On the console it shows a fan and heat controls, somewhere I've read about a htr on it. I suppose it would be like driving a old vw beetle in the snow which did well in the snow, not a lot of heat. Depends on the weight distribution if it is around 50/50 should be ok unless it is so low it drags snow and you all know how that is even with awd. Guy at work has a prius and truthfully I don't like it. He lives out of town so I suppose it works good for him mileage wise.

it does have heat, didnt read up how it works or anything. that car in silver with carbonfiber hard top...the shit.

Since they are using batteries, not fuel, I bet the weight distribution is damn near perfect.
Pricey though, $100,000, ouch. Li-Ion batteries are not cheap. All current hybrids use them, most Phones, laptops, and R/C cars, though, so the technology should be improving constantly. Batteries are insanely reliable no though.
