Man that first video caused more crap than you can believe. Chris was selling/has sold his evo last I knew. Kinda funny how ppl get all totally worked up about cars sometimes. We all get upset losing but that's the way it is. I just want a nice 93 octane car to give stang gt guys sh-t. :bigthumb: More fun, afterwards hang out, eat breakfast, talk about cars, no hard feelings.

Very nice Cobra. (Blue one)

the Cobra in the first one would be a much better all-round car i think. better throttle response(no turbo lag), pump gas, sounds a lot cooler than having an almost pure racecar to drive on the street

The cobra is very impressive with a stock block/internals, and pump gas

No... Dodge rules them all, case in point, street car world record. Big ci, tt kicks arse....... Now you all pick up your toys and go home..... As far as the 10.5 record, tim lynch owns them all, familar story, 604 ci tt so biggest ci w tt = kick ur arse. So someone step up build a bb tt say at 1 bar, kick some arse on 93 octane.

That new LSX block is bad indeed, still the cobra in the video was running a stock block and internals. I don't know why i only see mustangs with a chevy motor and no chevy with a ford motor??? Just curious on opinions.

^^^^
The real reason was 2 fold
The parts were cheaper and stock cylinder head comparison the chevys outflowed the fords at least in the small block windsors see Stan Weiss (http://users.erols.com/srweiss/tablehdc.htm#Ford)

These days there is no real reason to do it, the aftermarket parts are very similar in price at least windsor vs old sbc.
The only reason heretic engine was to get ci, as I was saying ci makes more hp if same head flow etc. and the ls series is a very small engine for the c.i. They could of put in a windsor and done the same thing and been cheaper, fontana, world block etc. Unfortunately the mod mtr bore spacing is too small. Imho in 96 they should have gone to sbf bore spacing and said screw the lincoln fwd, moved the towers out 1.5" or something. That's a real tick me off thing for me, some damn bean counter at ford probably said no. Chevy and Chrysler was smart enough to put enough bore spacing in to get big ci if they needed it. We will see all kinds of windsors in 05+ mustangs at wfc.

GM stopped the f-body and the vette was out of the price range to modify cheap, so that leaves the mustang with a solid axle maybe?
Even if the LSX block is 1600-1800 at scoggins-dickey.
I'm still pissd that GM didn't try to keep the heritage of the camaro in there instead of discontinuing the platform and bringing it back int he retro. I know whine whine whine, I don't like the 09 either it still hasn't grown on me and i don't like my 94's body style. Had I todo it again i'd own a WS-6 and not a Camaro, I like the body lines and it looks more like something that had some thoughts to it in body design and lines.

Sorry the rant was so long.... in a ford vs the world thread :)

We all have our bitches, I'm sure the dsm guys are crying the beloved 6 bolt mtrs are gone too along with a fairly cheap awd car that doesn't weigh a lot. As it is rusted junk is what we have to work with cheap. I would like to see a big ci f.i. tt pump gas street car around here though.

I haven't seen any 450+ci f.i. twin turbos roaming the streets here. Carb, nitrous yes, 468's 500 ci. I am talking a 750-800 rpm idle, pump gas tt vehicle. Enlighten me if I'm wrong. Something w like twin gt42r's running a aftermarket ecu w 160# injectors. Nice street car mom/wife could drive. :yawinkle:

Yea you want some data on heads stan weiss is pretty good, its updated regularily. It doesn't have the latest and greatest all the time as I see no ls7 nor ford gt/gt500 head flows. I was surprised it had the new hemi 6.1 listed though. I spend way too much time on the net and running dyno 2000 what if. Pm your head, cam data sometime Adam we'll see what it says for the coupe engine hp.

I was thinking of Brians Vette, but I also have a friend who has a 69 nova with a new dart SBC @ 434 cid with a set of turbo's. He is from South Dakota, but I think he will have the car down in Cedar through-out the year. I will ask him tonight what size of turbo's he installed.

I hope to see the nova out this summer. I'm going to get me one of those tornado thingy's and put it in my intake tube. Very lightweight 60 hp.....

Jay doesn't know anything he told me he was going to put a AC inverter into his car to run two hair dryers to help his LS1 along :)

 Ya you gotta use those ac/dc motors for higher rpms to get more boost. Then wire in series one of those fan controllers from menards to vary the boost, put it in your console and turn it up when no one is watching before the big race.

I figure if I reverse the wires on the heating elements, then it will blow cold air instead of hot. Then I wouldn't need an intercooler.
