Good luck. From experience, you probably wont find a good condition, running AWD DSM for much less than 6 times what you're looking to spend.

HA, ill take one too!
most tsi/gsx SHELLS go for more than that!!
only chance you got is possibly getting one from someone who has NO CLUE what they are worth or someone in e REALLY tight spot! or you could always try ebay. but VERY doubtful you'll find one for that price!!

And pretty much you won't. You have to know the right peolple, have money, trailor, and time to get them for that price. I look all over the internet everyday for them. 1gs and 2gs. Very hard to find in running condition epecially an AWD.

If your buddy is parting them out it's usually a sign that they shitty. You don't part out a perfectly sellable car.

About sums it, having a car trailor, a stockpile of dsm parts laying around and plenty of tools makes a huge difference. I got one for 300 but it was badly rusted, had a locked up turbo, bad cv axles, and trans ground into second. I made quite a bit of money parting the car out but fixing it up to be a reliable DD would have cost alot more than it was worth, and definitly more than 500. My gf's talon was 400 and I had to trailor that one and rebuild the engine, again putting the total investment well over 500.

I saw a talon with the wing thats right up to the back window on J street on the corner buy Hawkeye downs road. That's a new place that has wrecked and rebuildable cars. It didn't look like the back or sides had damage. I couldn't see the front of it. Its a puke green with a black wing on it. Might be one to check out. Iowa suspension is next door to it.

Thanks for checking it out Slow. Its to bad its a fire car tho, Bet wires are all burnt. If not for that looks like it would be a good car for some one without big money. Now it would be nice to know the damage under the hood and it might not be to bad if a person would want to take the time to rewire it. Motor still might be Ok if the intake didn't melt.

Wonder what kinda miles and if it's turbo. Hard to make out the back. Looks like TSi. If it was a 5-speed, under 500 bucks and less then 130k I'd buy it no questions asked.

EDIT: 95% positive it's a non turbo. Unless someone decided to swap out the side skirts and install a fuse box on the driver side.

Yep, its an NT. Steel wheels, blockoff-plug where the smic would be, black door handles = non-turbo

is it possible whoever owned it put a tsi rear bumper on it? cuz i see alot of red on it. like maybe it was a red bumper painted puke green then it was hit or something and scraped it back down to red. cuz as far as i know they had a yellow base on the bumpers. but why is red on it?

.. maybe whatever hit him was red.

.. maybe whatever hit him was red.

bingo... the red was "rubbed onto" the bumper. he hit something red or something red hit him. Also the interior looked OK, the seats has some chinese lettering covers on them so i couldnt see the seats, but the center console and the dash looked pretty good, also THINK i remember there being a guage pod, but i could be wrong.

I wanna give them a call tomarow about a different car, but i dont know the name of the dang place, so im gonna have to drive back into town again tomarow after work and talk to them. So i will ask about the TSI as well...
