Ok, my windows media player was acting a little goofy so i thought i would just uninstall it and reinstall with the new version 11. We'll i did, and i was looking around the internet and now it wont play any videos anymore. It says i need to install a plug-in to play the videos, and when i click that a window pops up and says 'no suitable plug-ins were found'. Anyone know what i need to do?

just search for a codec pack on any search engine and download it. should set you up alright.

Just tried it, still the same thing. I downloaded AVI Codec Pack 2.1 from here

http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.htm ... k&tag=srch (http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=codec%20pack&tag=srch)

any other suggestions?

uninstall 11 do a windows update, re-install 10 through update, see if it plays video, upgrade back to 11 again and see if it keeps 10's drivers to play again.

personally I'd click the "click here to install plugin button" but that's just me. Codecs will have nothing to do with WMP11 and your browser integrating, the only time they would have anything to do with each other is if you don't have a specific codec for the video you are trying to watch, which can usually be fixed on it's own or with a quick google. If you can't get it to work still google for "Firefox windows media player plugin"

WMP 11 is buggy at best and likes to shut down with fatal errors on a regular basis. The only reason I see needed WMP11 is if you are using wit with XP Media Center to sync with other devices or are using Urge to download music. Otherwise WMP10 will suit you just fine. To find older version of software I suggest browsing http://www.oldversion.com
