that would be nice if it did but yeah there is always something
With my luck and this car, it would be nice to do in a weekend, or even try, but its not going to happen.

If your Gonna Run over 15psi I suggest making your block a solid Deck cause after 15psi your cylnder's walls start moving around in there water jacket. Just some helpful advice

Thats a prety neat little turbo manifold setup.. I would tape that off, and spray it with HIGH temp black ceramic paint like i did on my cars.. It will deffinentaly look tits.. Then find a chrome heat sheild and BLING BLING!
Deffinentaly show that front mount.. Not to many hondas have them. so i would be strutten that stuff.
Drifte
01-15-2007, 11:04 AM
as for boost he intends a mild 9psi. maybe 12. We had a deck guard or whatever you wanna call it, but they sent a guard for a b16. So it probably wont get a guard...
george where'd you get ceramic paint at?
TbTalon94
01-15-2007, 12:44 PM
Stro...if we gather a few of us together, it can be done in a weekend. I turboed my Talon by myself in like a week..including swapping the pistons, head, and all kinds of shit.
If me, you, eric, tyler, the krumms...got together we could do it in no-time.
Drifte
01-15-2007, 12:49 PM
lets do it spring break if you have all the parts, and wiring together. safc 2 could be wired in anytime now.
Awsome, then Drifte, you should go over all my stuff and make sure I've got everything I need.

You can buy that paint at Autozone. It comes in like a brass colored can, and it's high heat ceramic paint.. Realy makes manifolds look good. Pluss ive had mine glowing and it still didnt eat the paint away.
TbTalon94
01-16-2007, 07:37 AM
Lol that's because you drive your car like once a week.
If you drive the car everyday, that paint will peel off. It's repeated heat cycles that makes it flake, not a few hot runs.
Drifte
01-16-2007, 12:03 PM
yeah that stuff doesnt last, not even on heat shields. atleast not for turbo applications. i thought you had found some rattle can form of ceramic paint.

TbTalon94
01-18-2007, 07:42 AM
plx wideband is grand. Simple connections, very accurate, pretty cheap and the box/gauge is easy to read. I had 2 different ones my white gsx and they worked awesome...and i'm sure it's still working awesome.
You can get one with a box that reads out a digital display, or one with a gauge that has a LED sweep as well as a digital display.
Are you guys just going AFC...no ecu mods?

his block guard is on the way!
TbTalon94
01-23-2007, 02:00 PM
go for 300hp. It sounds better.
I would love to get 300 on a daily driver, but i'm just hoping to have it running reliable.
Drifte
01-24-2007, 12:22 PM
dsm 300hp is expected. a sohc all aluminum honda hears 200hp and poops a hammer.
TbTalon94
01-25-2007, 08:48 AM
LoL poops a hammers. That made me giggle.
It can be done. With proper tuning it shall run around with 300hp.
No pooping hammers allowed.

fart cans pooping hammers. maybe even hatchets.

02-21-2007, 08:17 PM
since stro has gone invisible i'll have to talk to him (or YOU) through here.
need a fuel pump and regulator. need to wire injector resistor pack, and put injectors in. wire in safc at the same time and run it like that for a while.
hmm get that front mount mounted. need a grinder, cutting wheels, some metal, and a welder. should be cake.
need to get together to figure out what parts you need. i havnt figured out whats best for managemnt.
Ricky
02-21-2007, 09:10 PM
when you coming back colton? we could get a lot done if it stays this warm
krustindumm
02-21-2007, 10:23 PM
you do not need a fuel pump or regulator, and the only management you NEED is that VAFC and some 450's. You can retard your base timing a few degrees and you should be safe.
Drifte
02-22-2007, 10:13 AM
cept hes got an safc. when we swappin heads dustin?
krustindumm
02-23-2007, 06:32 AM
safc will work too, what about swapping heads?
Drifte
02-26-2007, 10:12 AM
i heard you were giving stro a non vtec head. None of us want to mess around with vtec.
whats the stock fuel pump rated for? I figure with this setup hes going to be in the 13psi range at times. We have yet to wire in the injector resistor box if you want to show me the best way to do that.
krustindumm
02-26-2007, 04:03 PM
keep using the stock pump till it starts going lean. I think they are good for 200-250 whp.
Yeah, i'll give him that head, but it's not really going to change anything for you. Since his car is already VTEC the only difference will be that there will be two unused plugs if you use the non-vtec head.
here's pics of how to do the resistor box.
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=517274
Drifte
02-26-2007, 04:43 PM
so your saying his vtec head just needs unplugged, and it wont cause any trouble..
krustindumm
02-26-2007, 09:59 PM
it won't cause any trouble plugged in either, but the compression will be higher.
Drifte
02-26-2007, 10:48 PM
but we have to tune around the vtec engagement. word on the street vtec + boost = bad

krustindumm
02-27-2007, 05:12 PM
but we have to tune around the vtec engagement. word on the street vtec + boost = bad
VTEC is just switching to a different cam lobe. With a V-AFC there are seperate maps for in & out of VTEC, on the S-AFC there are not, but it should be no big deal since VTEC pretty much always engages at the same RPM.
Ricky
02-27-2007, 10:46 PM
so at the point that v-tec engages we just have to compensate for the higher cam lob? so at the rpm we need to have it dump more fuel? correct me if im wrong but i think thats what your saying.
TbTalon94
02-28-2007, 07:49 AM
Yea your on the right track Eric. Tuning around V-tec shouldn't be to hard. Many of people do it with great results.
The vtec is going to engage at the same rpm just like dustin said, so tuning would be pretty easy. It's a constant variable just like rpms. We'd tune for spool (not like it's going to take long), boost/torque hit, then the transition to vtec, and so on. The tune may look kind of goofy on the AFC but it'll work.
krustindumm
02-28-2007, 11:16 AM
The ECM already compensates for the most part too, and since the AFC is making % corrections on the stock fuel map, I doubt there will be much difference between out of vs in VTEC.
Drifte
02-28-2007, 11:42 AM
obviously its up to stro. but i kinda like the idea of a nice clean NO vtecin motor. wonder what the difference in cost for bigger cams is.

im with eric on this one :(
So in the last most recent snow/ice/slush/shittyassweather storm we had. I was headed out of Ely and I hit a snow drift in the middle of the road. I slid off the right hand side of the road into the ditch, into the back of another ditched car. I've got an insurance adjuster coming to look at it hopefully early this week, but I am pretty sure the car is totaled. I haven't even talked to my insurance agent yet and i'm already looking into a new car.
Ashley
03-04-2007, 05:03 PM
you and zac should get together and share stories about hitting snowdrifts in the middle of the road :)
but honestly, that sucks pretty bad. hopefully you can find something you like better though?

Thats pretty shitty luck to go into the ditch AND hit a car already there
What pisses me off is that her car isn't even that bad. She needs a new muffler, muffler hanger, and bumper cover. All that shit can be picked up off of ebay or advance for between $200 and $250 dollars. GAY! and my car may be totaled. If it was a truck instead of a car, i may not be here now.
So as you might already have guessed, i'll be having some Civic parts up for sale soon. I'll keep everyone informed whats getting sold. But it could be alot of shit.
