or.. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper added to 1 cup of boiling water, then gargle it while its still as warm as you can tolerate. it'll bring better circulation to your throat and draw away any infections. buuut, if you gargle anything, make sure you do it often.. a few times an hour, if you can. otherwise its not as effective. and, gargling only helps if the infection is high up in your throat (i.e. its hard to swallow).. but if you're hoarse or coughing, gargling won't help bc the infection is too low in your throat.

don't forget to throw away your toothbrush, too :)
