no no no. i used to run the black outs all the time. i took them off, and did the headlight up like that. there normally all chrome. sadly i dont have before pics of the car with out the blackouts, i know my bad. but i was wanting peoples input on how the how the painted lights look. if they look good, ill leave the covers off. if they look like shit, ill put the covers back on

lol, i kinda knew this comment was coming. so it looks like i should do a red to black switch. it ight be a while, cuz i am not sitting infront of the car for another 20-30 minutes to rip 1 headlight out, especially in this heat. so it might be a little bit, but ill try the black on it. the red didnt "pop" as well as i thought. it just really doesnt stand out the way i thought it would. haha. 2 black headlights coming up

well mine was rather simple after the headlight was out of the car. its a bitch to get all the brackets and stuff out, as i took the headllight and bracket out as on to not screw up the allignment of the lights. but there are 4 clips holding the lense to the frame itself. and there is a bead of silicone all around, so i carefully pried the lense and rame (housing) apart, and there she was. got the painters tape out, masked off the scenter sanded the chrom surface i was gonna paint, and tada it was done

i pulled mine, removed the brackets, pulled off the like 10 clips on each, and baked it for ~10 minutes at 175* to soften the glue.

i found a even cooler way of doing my lights. i cant wait till it cools off so i can do this. i found a pic of a car like mine with the headlights painted black, its awesome, but its gonna be done differently than the way it is done now

Have you tried lightly wetsanding the surface of your lenses to help clear 'em up? I don't know if they are smooth on the outside or not, but I would give that a try if they are.

Luminatorz34

i havent done anything to the lenses. they are almost sand blasted. they are soo rough on the outside. the lense is smooth to where i could do something to it, but didnt know what to use to sand them smooth again

i used buffing compound and a rag, followed by macgyvers 3-step on a friends metro. Came out awesome. There were still a few of the deep scratches left, but hardly noticeable from 5ft away.

my cars all have glass lense headlights :)

not mcgyver, meguiyers (sp). but i dont see why people wet sand plastic... yes use 600, 1k, and 2k, then buff. i dont see the purpose to wetsanding plastic, or using polishing compound.

Holy crap man, where do you people get some of your ideas from. Go to a bike shop and get some plastic shield polish. If its on the surface it will clear them right up.
