I've thought alot about starting a petition to get rid of this damn front license plate law, my dad got a ticket in his vette for no front plate after a car show, mom has gotten one in the GTP for no front liscense plate, so we put the plates on and it looks like ass, anybody willing to start up a petition to lose the front plates?

:axe:

Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad

Unfortunately it has cost me a tint ticket and I got by for not having it on... but now it is... clutters up the front end so much. Cars that dont have the brackets to being with suck when they dont get pulled over, just because my kit is spotable from a mile away i get pulled over for it!

No petition in the world is going to change this law. The state doesn't care how it effects you personally, or anyone else. Making a petition for it would be nothing more than a huge waste of time.

true, but we can gripe about it!

Why do some states require it and others not?

The cool thing about my car is the front lisence plate bracket is receeded into the bumper . So if you don't have to have a front lisence plate you can get a cover and it flows perfectly or you can get a clear or tinted cover to put over the lisence plate.

Well, consider the population difference and the costs it takes to make each plate. Consider Iowa has a 3 million population versus Florida 17 million or Texas 22 million. That's a 14-19 million difference in plates produced each year. Assume those plates cost .25$ per plate. By not requiring front plates they save $3.5-$4.75 million alone on plates.

I'm sure economics play a large role in why some states, especially the bigger ones, don't require front plates.

They didn't require them in Kansas where I came from. When I moved here I never put the Iowa tag on the front.

I don't have front plates on any of my cars. I've got my share of warnings, but have never made an effort of putting them back on, and I don't plan to.
