Well I voted 6 cylinder...simply because of Grand Nationals. Unfortunately there are few 6 cylinder cars that have performance mods available (in comparison to 4 cylinder and v8's)

I know plenty of fast V6 cars.

Look at some of their times. ( v6mustang site ) yeah, not an 8 but still they have lots of mods available for them and shit. Same with the V6 Camaro.

I know v6's can be fast...but you have to look at comparisons here. V8's and 4bangers have much more performance parts available than 6's.

Just based on the fact that 4's have civics, DSMs, cavaliers, probes (some), and a lot of other cars that have TONS of performance mods available. Hell, http://www.importperformanceparts.com has a complete performance rebuild kit for my non z24 cavi....and there is also a really good T3/T4 complete turbo kit for the 2.2 cavi out as well.

And civics.....wow. I can't even express the amount of performance mods that are available for these things.

I think a v6,v8 or a 4cyl will do just fine. I just think you have to be a lot more careful when choosing a 4 and a 6. You don't want to end up with a ford festiva or something that you won't find many mods for.

Impressive, but still made me laugh. It's stupid not to start out with a V8. Even if I got something with a V6 the first thing I'd do is drop in a V8. You can make anything fast. It just takes a shat load more money to do it with V6s. If your interested I might have a 73 nova SS for sale.

there are alot of 6 cylinders out that can take a beating, RB25/26dett, 2jz-gte, GM's 3.8L FI platforms. Those can all hold alot of power, peopla have seen 1000+ RWHP out of stock internal 2Jz's

if you go from a mid 11 second domestic to anything with a 4cyl or 6cyl(siclones, thyphoons, and GN's excluded), youre going to be very let down. nothing is going to compare to your camaro. trust me, stay domestic, build another V8, you'll thank me later.

I agreee with Dustin....stay with a V8....just because once you get use to the take off....you want it....and well a V6 doesn't have the same kinda of thing!

I agree, from experience. A lot of people think V6's are fast ... till they drive a V8.
