I never really made a thread on here, so why not.
I got this 2004 Cobra out of Pennsylvania around 4 years ago. I bought it wrecked... it did not run or drive.
After I bought it, I found out via youtube, that it was a "built" car. This turned out to be terrible.

Guy had it on 20-some psi boost on completely stock fuel system. Right down to the clogged stock fuel filter. A young kid bought it and blew it up. Had more money than brains and installed an aluminator crate motor in the car, but left everything else as it was. He then wrecks the car and I bought it. I find a ported Eaton, 10lb lower pulley and a smaller upper, MAC H-pipe and stock everything else.
2011 I raced it as is and ran 12.4@118
2012 I got a 11.4@123 but later melted a piston at the IAF race. Upgraded fuel system, less boost, coolant mod among other things.
2013 got a junkyard stock iron block 4.6 and a 2.3 whipple. 10.7@133 on E85.
2014... best so far is a 10.30@136. Ditched the T56 and IRS.
Current mod list is:
STOCK low mileage junkyard 4.6 4V (literally never even changed valve cover gaskets)
2.3 Whipple Gen II (on 23ish psi)
E85
American Racing Headers
Custom 3" x-pipe into 2.5" cat-back with electronic cutouts
90 Notch (Twins) built 8.8" Junkyard Solid Rear Axle - Spool, 3.73s, 33 spline Moser everything.
Junkyard 4R70W Transmission with PA manual valve body with brake.
She made 641whp/608ishwtq through the T56 last year. Has not been tuned since the auto. Has no anti-roll bar yet and leaves like a caterpillar.
Fastest 2.3 blower only Cobra I could find only ran a 9.60, so I'm pretty happy with this very minimal build.
I can't believe it actually gained MPH with the auto swap. My best pass was heatsoaked on a 85* day. Cooled down, it hit rev limiter in 3rd through the traps....
I was thinking I could squeeze a 9.99 out of it, but I looked at my old dyno graph and it quit making power at 6500 rpms, so I'm not sure its got the gear/rpm for it.
I miss the 6 speed for the sheer top speed capabilities, but I think it was a safer decision to get a set-up that can't do over 140. I can cruise down the highway at 70mph around 2,000 rpm. I'd drive to the track more if I didn't despise changing tires so much.
Might I add this turd was unbeaten on the streets of Cedar Rapids last year. (from a dig). KOTSCR!!! Hahahaha
Thats all I have to say.... about that.
