I need to replace the oem mechanical rx7 speedo with an electronic one for the LS speed signal and fab it into the dash cluster. $50 and a couple hours of trimming/wiring. but i've always thought about going to racepak.

Also have 3 glowshift gauges in my car (coolant temp, fuel pressure and oil pressure) and they seem ok but they are below the radio. they are visible but you do have to lean over a bit to get a great look at them. been thinking about dumping $800 into a racepak dash and some sensors and all the gauges would be displayed on the dash as well as peak recall and replay, custom screen layouts, lit warnings, shift light etc.

worth it or no?

Sucks they don't make in in analog style. I hate digital gauges, but they would serve there purpose well I guess.

Functionality wont be much if any different than what you have, makes it look like a real serious race car tho!! I would think you could spend all that money on some engine work or something

Yeah I know a ton of people with "street cars" that run racepacks, go for it!

if you like an analog tach autometer makes the pro comp pro dash that has a big tach in the middle like you're stock dash. ;) I swear I don't work for auto meter. Those racepak's are pretty sweet though, although I too prefer analog - unless its a factory digital dash from the 80s

i sense sarcasm. that racepak has everything street related, its even called the street version. has odometer, blinkers, fuel, high beam, parking brake light, etc

analog is nice for fast moving gauges. i've never been super exited about the autometer stack display though

I like all of my info in one place and I'm more about function over form. So I say go for it, I'd love to have all of that in my dash.

If I had buttloads of money I would go racepak without a doubt.

i called racepak and couple minor things swayed me to just go the cheap route. one thing was to add wideband or other extra sensors like fuel pressure, you had to buy a $110 programming cable.

going to fab in an integra electronic speedo like '86svo9l' posted about a few weeks ago. the rx7 speedo is mechanical and doesn't work with the t56 tranny. someone just happened to have both an rx7 and integra speedo and discovered that the integra speedo fits great and you can even swap the rx7 faceplate right over top of it. so after this great junkyard discovery, many rx7 v8 swappers have followed

i just scored an integra cluster for $25 shipped. here is pics of another guys work
