srteh,
it is a 1962 dodge lancer. started out with a 170 ci slant six with a push button automatic. wheot it i threw a 98 5.9 magnum v8 into it from a dodge dakota. a few years later, the modern hemi came out. i waited and watched until junk yards started acquiring as wrecked dodge hemi cars and trucks. finally the prices came down on the hemi engines. and i bought one. and into the lancer it went all mocked up in place. in the mean time others were doing hemi swap in dusters darts roadrunners ect. but i was going to be the first lancer hemi swap. wrong!!!
someone else beat me to it and there it was a featured article in hotrod magazine. not to mention, the grombling going around about these hemi swappers disappointment in fuel mileage. so i changed the plan. time for a totatly out of the box swap. anyway here are a few more pictures

it takes a really special person to love the 60-62 Dodges. they just aren't for everyone. Kudos on the build; whats the out of the box idea?

An LS swap in anything is more in the box than a flannel-clad bull dyke.

Maybe I shouldn't give it away but he has already posted up on neons.org. A srt long block with a rwd trans is going in it.
Should be a fun car.

some people stated that this was an oddball and maybe possibly an out of the box swap. it just might be on both counts. but here is a look at what we have.

now i needed some motor mounts. certainly there aren't any to purchase. so i cut up some trusty card board and made some templates. from there i transferred the patterns to some 1/8 inch steel plate and cut them out with my cut off wheel in hand. broke out the welder and tack welded the pieces together. and here are the results. the engine in place and bolted up to the k-frame

i am using a 420A eclipse head, which positions my intake on the passenger side. and the turbo'fold on the drivers side. by doing this the throttle body and turbo face forward up front. and this eliminates any requirement of aftermarket or custom made manifolds. after building the motor mounts i obtained a factory turbo set up and intake manifold. here they are in place.

been concentrating on the body. i took the outer skin from a 70 barracuda hood and grafted it to the lancers hood. what do you think?
