I've seen a few weird things happen after parachutes are deployed. anyone know the common causes for these issues

Alot of times its from not having the clutch in when you pull the chute.

I wouldn't get to nervous about it Ryan. You shouldn't need to pull it unless something goes wrong. At that point it will be the last of your worries!

All I know if you want the anchor point close to the verticle CG of your car so when it opens it doesnt want to lift or push down on the rear of the car.. I've also heard alot of people say that you want to drive into the chute, meaning not on the brakes untill after the chute deploys, I know the weight transfer from braking hard can cause the car to act funny so I would assume thats why. I've only used mine a couple times and it took longer than I expected from the time I pushed the lever untill I felt it pull but it felt perfectly stable and definetly helps slow down.

I know I've seen some scary anchor points on cars, like vette's when they dont want to drill a hole for it and the anchor is super low, that would worry me

The civic looked like it caused his back end to float. The evo the guy is still on the gas after it opens then it gets squirly and he lets out of it and it settles down.

From what Scott said makes sense, having it correctly positioned would play a huge part on how it would effect handling once deployed.

im no chute expert by any means, but look at the left rear camber vs the rest of the car...

yeah bumpsteer and camber change would play a big role too
