Even though im not a stick guy its sweet to see how much quicker the field has gotten since the 1st event. Had a good time yesterday. Even though I was a victim of Murphy's Law yesterday, I love the manual class for this reason. The quickest cars in this event all had issues (myself and Ryan were driver issues). Hats off the Central Import crew! First time ever I have to say I got beat by a Honda!

Not to sound like a Josey nuthugger, however his car ran balls to the wall low 10s and pulled a trailer to and from the track with his gear. Freaking amazing.

Andy's car ran awesome and I was also loving the central imports car, if they could get it to stick it would run some sick times.

Yeah, I was bringing the clutch up to engagement, and brought it up too much. That moved me out of the first beam, and then the lights started dropping and I didn't leave off the 2 step (or on the nitrous) and bogged it terrible. It went a 2.10 60' vs the 1.500 I cut the following pass. Worst 60' and 1/8 mi time of the day for me.

And yes, I did cut out the return road blue streak lol

Lance your car left HARD, it was awesome to see on video finally. Unfortunately I was staging every time you ran so never saw it go in person. Going to be tough to top all the personal bests and zero breaks of this years shoot out. Maybe next year I will have something to actually compete with and make it more fun for myself.

I didn't recognise your car from the side. lol I just figured out that your the car that took me out. If you you would of had a picture of the tail lights I might of figured it out faster. Good job by the way. I always like getting my rear handed to me once in a while. :buttkick:

Thanks Ryan for putting on this event. I did have a blast even if I had so many problems. Hoping to get a few small things done this winter and come out with it tuned right this spring and see what this set up can do before I swap to my built motor.

Very cool to see some of the cars put down some great times. I was very impressed with the Central Imports civic. Along with matts 11.5 right off the trailer. Also very happy to see Jordan put down a quick pass.

This was the first track event I have been in so far, and overall it was a good learning experience for me than anything.
Still I still made it to the third round running 14 second passes ;)

Thank you, I really like how it turned out. On my old car I had it above the gauge cluster and kind of looked out of place and would damn near blind you at night, putting it in the vents cleaned it up some and can still see it plain as day!

This years shootout had the most cars. The auto class doubled in size from last year!

12 autos and 14 manuals made it into the eliminations. We lost at least one car in qualifying (Daniel's broken axle honda). Its also amazing how much faster the cars are from just 1-2 years ago.

special thanks to the good sports that still participated even though they were off the pace of the quickest cars. I was thinking next year we could maybe gather some outside sponsors to build the pot and refund entry fees to anyone knocked out the first round to encourage more participants.

I broke the trans around the 330' mark and coasted through.

The first two passes were getting the tire pressure and shocks set right. Third run was going to be good, but broke...Damn it. Reeeaaaly wanted a shootout with the Redrocket too.

I'll likely be back down there on Sat for the Midway Shootout.

Was pretty slow to spool at first. Swapped to a smaller cam and it improved. Still perfecting the footbrake, build boost, retard timing, no redlight, routine.

I tried measuring backpressure a while back but my gauge wasnt up to the task. Ive been told a coil of copper line and an oil pressure gauge works, just havent got around to it. It had a PT7675 billet on it before this and that thing spooled awesome and made killer power. Wanted more but should have went straight to a big dog billet BW S480.

cfr had an issue with their computer and/or the qualifying data. instead of sportsman seating, they switched us to a matchup method which if I recall was called "chipping". which was a form of random selection from the lanes in which the computer would tell them to pull lanes 'left vs left' or 'right vs right' or 'right lane vs left lane' . and i think you could also get two consecutive "left vs left" etc so essentially it would be pretty random without causing traffic jams from pulling a car 4 rows back.

they also said that chipping is more common with most of their competitions.

now after round 1 I was not clear if we were still being chipped or if we got seated into a bracket. hopefully next year that goes smoother.

Spools really quick on a 6.0L as you know. I have no complaints with it really. Power dives off after 5700 rpm, but pulls like crazy all the way there. I am not measuring back pressure but I imagine it is pretty high. A S480 will eliminate that though :). I think I have a buyer lined up for my turbo already.

I was really hoping that you hit 13's at a little over 100 but that is still very respectable for a 5000lb SUV! I like how you turned the stereo on shortly after the finish line. hahahahaahaha

Put it on a little diet and a drag pack and you might just have it. I was aiming for a 22" screen too but it doesnt fit neatly. Going to have to go smaller Im afraid.

I am sure a different cam would help mine pull up top more. I kind of want an excuse to re-do some things under the hood, and making more power/going faster, is always a plus. I didn't know i red lit until i seen the timeslip. at the finish line it was so close i was so pissed at myself for peddling too much and by the time i noticed how fast you were catching up to me it was getting too late to bring my mph back up. looks like i would've won by .008 if i didn't red light, way too close for comfort

Had no idea you red lit tell the end. I wasn't the one driving though, I'm Sean the owner of the shop/car, Eric drove for this event (shop tuner) and Ted (shop tech) was with us as well. We def didn't expect to win anything, honestly we were just hoping to get a couple clean passes and then call it a day. Car is getting tore down for winter here soon, still plan on keeping it streetable but building new turbo kit and getting a better trans set up.. lol yeah you'd need 1000lbs or so of sandbags.

My sedan probably already weighs close to 2750 area with me in it. Sean's car is probably around 2300 area. Ryan, what does your car weigh in at?

That is an Iron block in the car now, correct?

And I am not worried about the engine in the CI car, just the transmission. But he is light enough that the stock transmission should hold together well into the 9's. Needs a twin disk though.

I think I can get at least 120-130lbs of interior stuff that is not needed and a few more lbs by getting some big and littles. I also just inherited a different lower pulley to really make that whipple whine :banana: 9.99999 or bust

I was running 22psi last weekend (3" upper and a 2lb lower)

I just picked up a 4lb lower from a friend, so I'm hoping for around 24-25psi or so with that setup. My AFR's are around 11.5-11.6 or so and when I datalogged yesterday I was at 21 degree of timing.
