So I have this old silverado 400 sbc has cast camel humps ported and polished I'm looking to get a new set of aluminum heads and maybe a Vic high rise for it I'm in despite need of top end power. Just wondering what you guys recommend for these old 400 with the steam holes.

Do they have to steam port holes in them that the 400 small blocks need?

I'm not sure on that one, but isn't that just as easy as drilling some holes if needed?

If those heads don't have the ports, it's a simple fix. Use your old head gasket as a template, you only need to drill approx.1/4"- 3/8" deep with a 5/32" drill bit. Just enough to get to the water passage. If your not comfortable with this any machine would be happy to charge/do this for you.
