at a dealership up outside of Minneapolis that only sells old cop cars.

very deep in my family's blood. all i grew up around. i was kinda star-eyed over the challenger for a little bit, but that passed. the Charger is where it's at- TONS of room inside, good power, solid ride. i even pulled around 25mpg doing 80mph weaving through traffic on the 300 mile trip back. now that the wife ditched her Poncho, and i'll be letting the Jimmy go, all of the sudden, our house has two Dodges, a Plymouth, and a Volkswagon. i'll keep working on her.

i dont plan to do a lot to it. i just wanted a reliable daily driver that i could live with. i love how this looks, and will probably leave it pretty well alone. the few things i have planned:

- push bar
- have the back and rear side windows tinted dark
- have someone buff the car down well so you can't see where all the old decals were and make that fucker glow
- figure out some kind of center console that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

i had thought about trying to find someone parting out an R/T or SRT8 for the leather interior, but i actually really like the seats now. this car actually has carpet instead of the rubber mat; that helps. it is super comfortable to drive; i'm loving it.

if i were to get nitpicky, i'd probably rather the car sit 1"-1.5" lower, but i doubt i'll spend the money to do it unless i come across a hell of a deal on parts. the headliner and trim are a light grey while the rest of the interior is dark grey and black; it'd prob be cool to get darker pieces, but its not a huge deal to me. having a higher model back seat that folded down would be nice though. i might get a cat-back exhaust and a simple CAI at some point, but the car is just meant to be my fun daily driver. i really dont have a lot of desire to mess with it much. i've never really owned a car that i had to keep clean and nice looking; i intend to learn and hopefully enjoy that side of cars a bit for a change. besides, i've got my truck and Duster to play with yet. just gotta find time to work on them.

keep an eye out, i plan to get this thing looking as mean and pretty as i possibly can, and then driving everywhere scaring people as i come flying up on them. people are going to HATE me in this car.

So your new car is playing the same role as my new car. I would say definitely get the intake and cat back. It will sound awesome and be that much more enjoyable to drive. Push bar and tint will be awesome too. I think it looks sweet, and is going to scare a lot of people on the roads. That stance it has now makes me think it was the dusters replacement...

made a deal with Keith today for a push bar. the brackets are for a Crown Vic, so i'm gonna price out Charger ones and decided to buy them or just fab new ones or modify these. he threw in a gun rack for the inside of the trunk lid for good measure. what a guy:

Haha that name is perfect. I can't see you ever regretting putting exhaust on. Awesome purchase

Dustin, if you want to borrow my buffer, just pick up some compound and go to town on it. I can give you some pointers if you want to give it a go.

Might take you up on that Colton. I have a friend who lives close that used to detail cars on the side, but his buffer died and he just hasn't got around to getting a new one. He said he'd be willing to help too. I really want to get on making brackets for the push bar; I don't want to be pulling the nose off after the car has been detailed to fan up the mounts. Hopefully in the next week or so. Stay tuned.

Glad you picked one up, mind telling what you paid?

I want one for a daily, once my Jeep is paid off.

I wrangled this one for $10.5k. Given the year and being black, its about the going rate. If you could deal with white or silver, and an older model year, you can find them in the 6-9k range pretty easily.

The brake pads actually have little badges stamped into them. So awesome.
