Anyone have a suggestion for an affordable place that can rebuild my wife's jeep liberty engine?

i'd guess a drop in junkyard replacement would be the most economical

Not really, I would prefer to spend more and not be running on a bunch of unknowns....having this happen twice isnt something I am open too

Take it out and rebuild it. It's gonna be cheaper.

depends what is wrong with it or if it has a ton of miles. not sure if you can usually get away with slapping new rings on an old motor. or if you'd have to tear it down and pay for hot tank cleaning, honing, new bearings, new gaskets, decking, head work, reassembly etc. can add up quick.

lots of junkyards have a guarantee nowadays. looked at car-part.com just for fun, unfortunately the liberty motors do seem pricey at $1500-2k

Sounds like my wifes Caravan. 2008 under 60k miles, one engine replacement and transmission rebuilt twice. That was enough for me. Sold it and got something else.

That's IT! I never thought it was possible to make a Jeep Liberty more queer, but you've unlocked the answer!

Do it Dan! I'll even help. After we're done, we can paint the hood flat black and put some hellaflush wheels on it.
