After a long conversation with a buddy of mine I think I'm going to swap a turbo 5.3 into my Plymouth instead of the original plan on a 4g63. Ok now you guys can show me the way and give me guidance! I wanna do a cheap build at first just because I have to make the car safe. Thanks in advance

Oh yes, that is sure to be super unique. Kudos for being completely original.

getting an old car like that restored clean is hard enough even with a proven motor swap. there will still be a lot of time and money and customization required.

No restore just a fun toy don't plan on winning any awards I just want to build a turbo car and since I have it already I figured why not

So... you'll need suspension, brakes, fuel system, engine/trans, turbo, intercooler, exhaust, custom driveshaft etc... gonna throw $10k+ at it right there, might as well keep going...

Oh really? I better just buy a mustang or camaro all done up for that price....

yeah that is one of the cheaper swaps but 10k plus is not a bad guess for a turbo swapped car. Post your budget notes and we will show you. You should still do it though.

always cheaper because 2nd hand they never get paid for labor or get squat for the aftermarket parts they bought. and sticking with the mass produced mustang/camaro setups save lots of time and money. you can't just order pre-made stuff online on your kind of project. helps a lot if you can weld yourself.

but im interested in seeing your parts/price list. adds up quick unless your using all cheap china turbo parts

Or an LSx swapped RX7, they're a dime a dozen now too. ;-)

Seriously though, if thats what you want to do, just go n/a and enjoy it for a bit then gather turbo parts and supporting mods as you go. If I cam tell you one thing from experience, it is that if you get overly ambitous too quick, it'll take forever, you'll get bored and end up selling it.

I'll have a whole t56 setup from an fbody if you're looking to go that route

To be honest it already sounds like you are in over your head and you haven't even started.
