Anyone know a local place that can clean the inside of an aluminum fuel cell for me? The fuel filter on my boat keeps clogging up and it's getting pretty nasty. I already managed to pull the fuel cell (PITA!!) and got the fuel all out of it. just need need it cleaned up really good. I did my Fiero tank using Acetone and a some chain, worked great but this is a HUGE pain to get out so I don't want to risk having to pull it again. Someone mentioned radiator shops might do it...? I think it is about a 10-12 gallon or so, if it matters.

Thanks in advance.

no, just a bunch of jelly/varnish that hardens up once it dries a little. Here's the fuel filter, I clean it up like new and within 20-30 minutes the engines bogs and it looks like this again. I'm over the whole being covered is gas/oil all the damn time, I'd rather pay a professional on this one.

2-cycle... have to keep this one as it is custom fit to the boat. it is contoured to fit the hull and actually mounts under the floor/seats. I don't imagine it would cost more than $100 to have it cleaned up. I'll probably call some radiator shops tomorrow but was hoping someone might know a place right off hand.

maybe try and adapt a monster filter or two and it will be less likely to clog?

There's a place here in DM that repairs radiators. They have a tank they dip them in and I had a motorcycle tank dipped and recoated by them a few years back. Might try someplace like that.

I need a -8 filter for my Fiero... but as for the boat, I already got the tank out and ran new lines, just want to get the tank cleaned and have an all new/like new fuel system.

found a shop that'll do it for $65 but they said all they do is put dawn dish soap in and pressure wash them. doesn't sound good enough to me....
