I follow the conversations on supraforums. Their is talk of 1750hp ttg, Johnvon is supposed to race and his busa is back together sans the mini jet engine.

I still plan on going next year, and doing the dyno day, track and car show but the street scene is getting bad down there. It used to be 800+ hp cars would go out at 11PM and stay out till 4am doing pulls with each other and what not. From what I've been reading the locals are just turning the event to shit. burnouts at every stoplight, hotel parking lots just in general less respect for the area then the people traveling all that distance just to go.

Sad day for the lmr vette. I'm sure the glide (while shifting fast and not often) doesn't have the gearing to really get up there in mph. I don't think any rwd cars can compete on the street at these levels though. I'd like to see a log of tire slip to see just how well the power is being put down. I still don't see how the shops would want to be associated with racing on the street next to the other cars. I mean thay passed a couple cars like they were in reverse.

Yeah, it seems the Ford GT is about the only RWD car that has a chance because of where the engine is located. Those Lambos are crazy.

Like slowride said I think the fact it had an auto most likely geared for 1/4 or 1/2 racing didnt help the corvette... then again a manual RWD 1700 hp car would most likely scare the shit out of me if I was driving it.

Take this for what you will, but word on the street is the vette could not use full power with the street conditions without a burnout so low gear was pulled way back (600hp) and no nitrous was used due to a fuel supply issue. A rematch is coming I guess, but it just sounds like excuses though. I'd love to see what they do to the lambo transmissions to make them live with that power. All these big doller buildups running sleeved blocks, exotic drivetrains, etc, etc leave my head spinning at the costs.

Anybody have any good links to what all goes into some of the faster lambos for power/transmission? Something that shows what is done with details not a price list.

i told you guys that the track is a very poor estimation of what the car will dyno.

That's a heavy pig at 4200lbs though, take off 800lbs and high 7's are right there.

I can't see it being that heavy. 3600 lbs maybe. I'm sure the gearing is not really correct for the 1/4 pass either unless they swapped trans gears. I'm not sure if they are using a factory z06, zr1 or an aftermarket piece. C6 z06/zr1 rears only have the stock 3.42 so they would have to change the trans gearing.

LOL at 4200 pounds! That car wasnt making 1700 hp on that pass, mph sucked and it sounded like shit breaking up most of the time
