I'm surprised he didn't wait until midnight tonight to see if it runs ok. Lol.

Hopefully it makes good #s though. 400whp out of the question? With at least 65wtq.

he's having a problem pumping out all the old fuel . but yet he's on facebook right now. he's probably going to address the issue in the morning just to keep the stress level high

I need to reread your build thread, do you have a built bottom end or is it stock?

Stock bottom end with arp hardware. We madxe 325whp at 10psi with 21 degrees of timing. I deidnt want to go much further because ill be switching software and gvetting retuned again this summer

should be good for some fun, brad ran 11.7@118 at 303whp on his sohc heavier coupe, so I'm sure it still flies at 325whp

What turbo again? Cams or anything like that? Go enjoy it, I'm sure it will spin for days :)

its a 6031e. .63AR exhaust housing. stock cams, stock rods, stock pistons. stock everything. as it sits right now, it has trouble grabbing the road in 3rd...but im also on some generic woo-hoo tires.

When we went for a test drive i launched it and went through 4th gear and blew an intercooler pipe. didnt even know it blew off until we made it to a gas station to fill the truck up. thats like missing your babies first steps!

yeah traction will be a bitch with about anything but slicks on the street, brads civic had brand new drag radials and still spun up until 3rd - and I'm sure at 10lbs your power is coming on faster than his even since he was making 303whp on 21psi on his 57

yea, i hit 10psi at about 5200rpm...then VTAK KICKS IN YO!

i wouldnt really call it lag. The car revs up so fast you hardly even notice it.

reminds me, if that was a non-load bearing dyno. your turbo wouldn't spool as quick

JacobS
03-03-2013, 04:13 PM
its a dynojet 248, so im pretty sure its not a load bearing dyno. i could be wrong though

I'd like to se someone build one of these with something like a 14b or 16g from a dsm or anything around that size. Give the dam thing some midrange. Whats that turbo rated for Jacob like 600 hp or something like that?

JacobS
03-03-2013, 07:29 PM
I think its rated at 595 crank horsepower or soemthing around there. itd probably max out around 450ish. at least my fuel pump would with the e85. my main goal was to not overkill it, but leave me some room for improvement.

theres plenty of hondas out there with small turbos with decent midrange power. but when the engine revs to 8200rpm it just doesnt make sense to me. if i ever race this car, its not going to be from 3500rpm.

sparkles, it is wrenches old dyno

Sure, it's almost impossible to get a turbo that would come on strong down low and still have steam up top with such a long powerband. I guess I've just never seen a honda power curve with more focus on midrange. It looks clean in the picture on FB. Do you have a front LSD or anything?

JacobS
03-03-2013, 09:08 PM
yea it has an OBX LSD.

Sleepy
03-04-2013, 07:23 AM
For your obx do you honda guys have to mod them? For the neon obx's they have weak washers and bolts and the lsd has to be milled to accommodate axle clips.

typical honda owner response

I didn't think my 96' had hardly any lag until I got my srt. Talk about zero lag.

Its not lag anyway, its traction time.

In the early 2000's my brother and his friend ran 14b's on their hondas (at some point a probe turbo was used). It translated into more tire spin than with a turbo with a little lag. Dont get me wrong, it was an absolute riot but not very useful until over 60mph. Another friend ran 30psi on his evo316g fwd eclipse, when he switched ti a 35r he also claimed better traction from the delayed spool up. I imagine Jacob is somewhere in between with the best of both worlds (or the worst...no traction and less power?).

JacobS
03-06-2013, 09:02 AM
i would guess im in between, but its hard to tell with cold sandy road and without a good set of tires
