My friend called it the "baby killer" for some reason :) Owned the car from 97' 29k till 06' 74k and never had problems with it that I didn't cause. It was 3rd fastest (11.85 @ 116.5 with lots of low 12's high 11's running 1.6 and a 1.5 60ft)on the list at the time on a b16g turbo around 02'-03' with a stock engine, AFC, palm logger and web cams. I just had to crack it open.

Built a 2.4l off a hundai block, ported the head, 272 cams, AEM, FP red 8cm, etc. Drove it to Chicago for the dyno time and home with no issues. I never really got a chance to use the c16 power as I sold it before tracking it. It really needed a sheetmetal intake as the long runner stocker killed it on top, but it sure made some torque for what it was.

I probably would have kept it had someone offered drivetrain parts strong enough to take the abuse for long periods of time. Would have been a fun street setup on e85 with the awd traction.

that was a sweet car ed, wish you still had it

i'll play too , 95 talon awd, high 11's @ 120ish on a 50 trim garrett. kept it for about a year longer after i got the rx7. had to make sure i liked the ls1 rx7 better. ls1 rx7 won.

got pulled over by the popo with my friend greg racing the talon and i was also pulled over in the rx7. cop was confused when my name was on both car's registrations

only thing i miss was how the talon was unmolested and clean and more modern. paint was like new. rx7 interior is dated, paint old but power and light weight won over looks.

Sweet looking cars. I love how stock both look.
Only dsm I have driven was a buddies stock 1st gen and I always loved how the interior felt. Kind of wraps around the driver.

My first one was a black 90' laser like that, but couldn't stand the fwd and sold it after two years. I never really had any big problems with my DSM's. I know my stockish car ate up a lot of stockish mustangs, camaros, etc back in the day :) I also had a Galant VR4 (1683) around 99'-03' also.

No kidding. I had a 90 and a 91 TSI, traded them off for a 86 then a 94 GT Mustang, then got rid of those turds for Fbodys. We only get wiser ;)

Oh shush, we all know you just couldn't handle the insane torque-steer when mashing it down in 5th on the highway haha. That's pretty cool you bought it new though, never knew you had a DSM past. Always cool seeing one all original from back in the day.

Anyways I suppose I'll contribute. Incoming post/pic whoring.

First DSM but also my first car: 92 laser 1.8l n/t 5spd - lots of high school memories

92 talon awd, bought from Drifte. my favorite ever, despite it was a bit of a whore - but it's the reason I even can work on cars now haha.

Anyways sold it to some kid who tore the hell out of it. Its back in good hands now - as it sits:

92 laser rst awd, missed the talon and bought this one. Did a lot of fixing, was pretty quick.. before I did a new build it ran 11.7@123mph spinning on junk street tires, probably would of ran a high 10 when I sold it.. for some reason I just wasn't interested in it, got bored pretty fast.

93 eclipse n/t 1.8l - bought this for cheap as a true beater. This thing was reliable as hell, bought it and drove it through a winter and then some, had 180k on it when i bought it and 200k when I sold it to a friend who still drives it every day. Damn good car.
http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/532157_3365528810756_1584760156_n.jpg

91 talon tsi awd - just a rusty awd 1g with a few bolt ons that I bought for a DD. Was actually damn reliable for me, I had a lot of fun through last winter with it.
http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/407713_2904283599914_2004268088_n.jpg

92 eclipse GST - actually planned on keeping this one for my college DD.. only bought it cause it was a damn good deal with low miles running and driving with no major issues for 1k. Just needed a lot of little things, spent maybe $200 at the most getting everything tip top - it had been sitting for 2 years. Needed more cleaning than anything. But I just saw potential to make too much money off it lol, my weakness. Was my only ALL completely bone stock DSM.

But yeah, pretty sure i made more money off that one from just all the damn cleaning I did from the way it had sat, especially since it had sat with the windows cracked, ugh.

I feel like a complete DSM whore with all these, but the funny thing is I know there are people here who can top me lol
and yeah we definitely jacked your thread slow ride, this is now the "post your dsms" thread

Fine by me. Just figured I would show off the old girl since only locals ever really got to see it. I kept everything in the car CC, air (factory fill), PS, etc. I'd buy it back if if I could to tell you the truth. I'm sure it was destroyed many years ago though. I ended up selling it for $10,900 which might have been a record amount for a 1g ;) and it went to upstate New York. Guy called me back after he got it and left a message, I was like crap this can't be good, but he wanted to thank me and let me know how nice/well put together he thought the car was in person.

I didn't think abs was an option with the 4 bolts?

yeah it was, well it had to be anyway
colton removed ABS from the grey talon, my laser didn't come ABS, my buddy's 93 talon had ABS still

I used to hear that all the time, thats why I made a point to post that haha. Back in the early 2000's dsmtuner guys would go nuts on me, telling me its impossible. But that car had every option except the sunroof, which in boy racers mind meant a stiffer chassis.

Clinical, I didnt remove abs from the silver Talon, it was my black talon.

A 93 shouldn't of had a 6 bolt in it. So the 6/4 combo wasn't a option and it would of had abs. I'm glad mine didn't have abs, I prefer a car without it. I guess I was wrong this whole time.

It was a 92 with a 6/4. The abs was junk, and took up space. But it was unique. ive never owned a 93, Ive had 89/90, 91, 92, 94.
