Did you guys notice all the little burnouts they did? Like a big burnout then turn into the lane, then a couple scrubs.

Imports were on low boost :)

My understanding is it really didn't matter who won the race, it was whoever could beat the shit out of everyone else that truly won back in the day.

Landy's 70 Challenger(pretty sure they just threw a '71 Grille and tail panel on it) with the 16 plug hemi and 4 speed was no joke. ive read articles about all the little things he would do for the tiniest little advantage. the wheelbase had to be stock, but there was spec it could be within. so he moved his k-member forward an inch and a half to offset the wheelbase. he painted an aluminum case 4 speed with metal filings in the paint so a magnet would stick to it and the techs would think it was iron. he stuffed Landy Dodge sales brochures in a thin-wall tube on the rollcage so it would sound thicker when the tech's would tap it with a wrench. crazy shit back then.
